listernoble should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Start timing-64 ft

In sprints and hillclimbs we have a split timing 64 feet from start line .We break the beam off the start line and again at 64 feet, most of us in around 1.9 to 2.2 secs, but how does this relate to 0-60 mph and G force,or doesn't it?
I remember 32ft/sec squared as gravity so does the 64 ft have some relevance?

As I understand it 64ft in 2 secs is 32ft per sec which means we reach 1G accelerating off the line

should be right so basically its a function of 2secs / time which gives you your g's unless im mistaken, not sure it would directly relate to 0-60 as it would only give you an instantaneous sped but you can take the curve and put a prediction to 60 on it

Thanks,
G makes sense.
On reflection I agree that the 0-60 is not really relevant.
If one looks at drag cars 0-300 in 5 secs and probably still quite a percentage of that to get going?

So 19.5 meters in 2 seconds = 9.75 meters/ second so yes that should be 1 G,however that would be the "average G's for the run not the maximum. You should start off with a high initial G and then taper off as your speed increases and the acceleration decreases but this is starting to get into differenciation and I can neither spell it correctly or confidently come up with the correct formula to plot the curve.

Anuauto has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Throws up some interesting figures sometimes. I often took as much as 0.3 sec off the class competition in 64ft bcause I had less power and could get away with a conventional clutch rather than a paddle clutch (that offered less control). Obviously I then lost it all and more down the course!

That is interesting, in Drag Racing, there is a 60 foot time that is given to you as part of your timeslip. The really hooked up production cars generate times in the 1.5-1.7 second range, the average showroom stock car 2.0-2.2 seconds. Robert
