Thank you Derek!
You certainly filled in a few blanks I had on the early history--John Lloyd and Robert Schneider and the Ralt serial # (all I had is the AM chassis #). Before I purchased the car from Wire Wheel, I contacted Andy Greene (and others) to learn about the car. And I had the chance to meet Andy at the SVRA Vintage Races last year at Indy. I'm attaching a pic from Indy of the car today.

Cheers

I'm new to this forum, and appreciate the collective experience represented here. Hence, my inquiry about Ralt RT4/83 #348 which I recently acquired.

Any information about it's early race history, with accompanying photos would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

RT4-268 search. Chris Townsend has been very helpful in my search for the '81 RT4 #268. I ran Patrick Shelby in that for the '83 Mondial North American Cup. The car was sold late '83 and moved to Sears Point (Sonoma) Raceway.
Unfortunately neither Patrick nor myself can remember who bought it. I have been following leads provided by Chris but am getting to the small end of the funnel.
One person I am trying to locate is Rick Shea. He ran cars in the following season in WCAR. Anyone have any leads? Thanks in advance.

I think I have found a phone number for Shea. Will be calling in the AM. Fingers crossed.

Have spoken with the Sheas. Whereabouts of Chassis #268 still a mystery. Trying to make contact in OZ and NZ.

I owned RT 4 chassis 592 and campained it in SCCA for a good number of years. The car was purchased from Jensen Motorsports, the same folks that ran the series right up to it's conclusion last season. Jensen bought the car from McNeil as was mentioned in an earlier post here. The car so far as I know never left the states for it's life time. I sold the car several years ago to a fine gent from Georgia. I still have 592's log book complete with entries for Driver Johnny O'Connell. I'm very happy to correct this history here as it seems some folks think there is a ghost 592 chassis some where down under. Please feel free to send any questions my way and I'll be happy to respond with what I know. Mark

I have some of the data that you need within the Ralt records.
217 was probably a replacement tub or in an RT5 not a 4, but if you can give me some other information I can help as to what the original car was.
Firstly, what is the fuel cell marking. I have complete records of original fuel cells for 1982 build.
Secondly, what is the gearbox number?
Thirdly, is there a stamp on the roll hoop? If it was a CSR - SCCA class and nothing else - there should be one. This will tell me first time it raced SCCA and I can match that up.
I know of one 81 build RT4 that went on to be a successful CSR in southern California. It might well have got a new tub in 1982.

If you want to keep this private email me here

Hello,
I have a RT4 with no chassis tag but there is stamped on the bulkhead of the car the number. AM. 82 219

Does anyone have a cross reference from this Arch number to the chassis number to find some history on the car??
Thank you ,
Chris Rose

Chris,

Do you still have this car? I think I can identify it for you

I thought I'd post here that I'm looking for a RT4 with a BD engine preferably a 1986 that would like to find a new home.

Please message me if you know of one.

To the group,

I've been looking for a few months for a Ralt RT4 preferably a 86 or updated to 86 spec car. I've got a rebuilt DBA motor ready. If anyone knows of one out there looking for a home please contact me at

stscca at Yahoo or shoot me a text/call at 408-828-8177

Regards,

Stephen
