"I saw a Datsun 240z in Islington the other day - looks so sexy! "
- There there, there there I've been hosed by a genuine GT40... go the Mondeo! |

With all the stupid SUV's on the road, it's difficult to see any decent cars anymore...
At a local car show last year I saw a real 427 Cobra,a GT40,and a Supra that took part in the One Lap of America race. There are also a few Vipers and a Diablo that can occasionally be seen on nice weekends.. Alan |

How do I delete a duplicate post? It says I don't have priveleges to delete my own posts?

Similar to elephino, it'd have to be Richard Burns in the Subaru on a road section back to Lloret de Mar on the 2000 Rally Catalunya

There is only one genuine GT40 in Australia and it osn't road registered.
There is a GT40 replica which regularly competes at QR. I beat it by 2 seconds a lap at Morgan Park, go the Datto!!! |

F40s aren't road registerable in Australia either, but special dispensation (and temporary registration) is available. For instance for the one on the GP Rally.
The first 996 GT2 I saw on the road was last year...but I can't remember the exact day. But I do know it was the night the last V8 Superstars was recorded for last year - so if someone can remember that, then I'd know |

I saw a 2002 Ford Mustang Cobra on Sunday in Sydney, not exactly an exotic but they're pretty rare in Australia and it had a nice engine sound. The best thing about it was the driver was pinning it through some pretty heavy traffic around Hyde Park!

When I was on my L plates for my very first drive up in the mountains near where I live I was followed by a screaming Maserati Merak. Apparently the guy who own it couldn't get it reistered here but drives it up in the mountains every now and then.

DMC, one of my colleagues in the US has recently bought one of those mustang cobra's, hes had it tweaked, it sounds good, would appear to handle reasonably well, certainly a firm ride, I was over there a few weeks ago, it is fast, up to 55mph, which is the fastest it went!
im so glad i dont live there, roads are **** |

Patto- It was Bowden's jigger, it had a temporary red slip for the day to go to Lakeside... still, you'd put it on a trailor!

Got overhauled by an Audi RS4 on my way to teck this morning. My poor old 33 sportswagon doesn’t quite cut the mustard any more.

I lost count of the number of Porsche 911s in Sydney yesterday. Sure they're great cars but when are Sydney's rich going to get some individuality? If I had the money, I'd be getting a TVR!

...which would also cost half the price. At least in Britain anyway, I'm not sure about shipping costs to Oz.
British roads are the BEST!! Yes, they're pot-holed, narrow and bendy, but...... isn't that what you want??? It makes life INTERESTING. British country lanes. You just can't beat 'em!! Oh, I saw a silver Diablo Roadster in Grovesnor Sq, London (on the traffic lights outside the US Embassy) a couple of months ago. VERY loud. I wish I were the sheikh inside!! Actually, I don't like camels. |

Tristan, narrow and bendy (especially bendy) - yes. Potholed - no thanks.

Do TVR owners have someone follow them with a trailer whenever they go out, like Harley owners do?

Best think I've come accros was a silver Lambo Diablo crusing along in front of us - the thing was so flat, perhaps a metre it seemed! So we followed it for a while (in fairly busy traffic, so I dont think they suspected us stalking them ), pursuing them until the car pulled into what looked like being a college/school or something - a massive massive building, turns out it was a house, obviously the owners of the car. Some people get all the luck
