1" OD Metal Y-Pipe Needed
Hiya guys -
OK, my new 2-stroke engine is very sensitive to temperature. Cooler = more HP. So I am going from a single thick custom radiator with a fan to two thin off-the shelf ones. I'm an autocrosser, with an open-wheel car, and will fan just one of these. I'm not sure yet if I will need a swirl pot in the system (Don't have one now), but will install a just-after-the-engine piece of clear polycarbonate tubing temporarily, to see if the engine creates bubbles at high rpm's. Regardless, I will need at least one, and possibly two (If I need a swirl pot, I'll have one custom made with two exit tubes) 1" OD Y fittings (1" in to two 1" outs - to dramatically simplify my system). Of course, out of metal (brass or SS). But. . . After many hours of searching, there don't seem to be any for sale. Anywhere in the world. I purchased two grey PVC Y-pipes, and put one in boiling water (the max temp I hope to see, and hopefully will see much lower) for 20 minutes. It changed color, survived, and was un-crushable at that time. I suppose that I could get some custom-made, but. . . surely someone SOMEWHERE makes such a beast. Ideas? Chris |

These people do a diy make your own connector system for custom T and Y pieces... http://www.nfauto.co.uk/ which includes making up a 1" Y.
Its on page 232 of their online catalogue (left had page) ... http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1u6...m?referrerUrl= (just type 232 in as the page no at the top) Hope this is useful. |
