ribbo should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
i've always wondered why theres never been a short oval section on ten-tenths, i've seen so many forums/messageboards/newsletters/websites that have "communities" but never a decent forum that draws them together (like 10-10ths for other forms of motorsport)

Dates that may be of interest, during the long circuit off season, at Wimbledon Stadium, Plough Lane SW17 are

weds 1st Jan 2003 at 2pm, Winternationals, with National Hot Rods, Superstox (open wheel contact formula), 2litre Hot Rods, and Rookir Bangers.

sun 2nd Feb 2003 at 6.00pm, Hot Rod Open, two classes of Hot Rod, to cater for those that don`t usually race at Wimbledon, bit of an unknown, but was good last year, with Robin racing (yes 3 wheelers) and Lightning Rods (sierras)

sun 2nd March 2003 6pm, world qualifying round 9 for the National Hot Rods (should be good) with 2litre Hot Rods, Superstox and Stock Cars.

Admission was £10 this year, but does go up for some meetings.

Enjoy the super silhouttes if they come to a circuit near you, but they are bound to get more spread out than on the 1/4 mile ovals...... So do try to see the Nationals on the ovals, all formula have ups and downs, and Nationals have been getting good grids for the passed couple of season. So if you have an oval near you that they visit, make the effort to go along, it should be worth it.

There was some excellent Nat'H/Rod action on "World Motor Sport" last night on SKY from Ipswich (not the World Final)-Dave Longhurst did briliantly as did his mate "Douhgnut!"

Wish they had Intersaloons or National Hot Rods here in the states - Instead we get the SCCA GT's - which run some really weird rules - but nothing like national hotrods, special GT's or even thundersaloons over here

I used to go to the races at Lyden and Brands my brother Duncan was racing a Starlet in those days. He ended up moving to the thundersaloon series for a season racing in the ex morris brothers Peugeot 205 - bright yellow

Thundersaloons used to be great. Pete Stevens in the Bertec Carlton, one of my all time favourite cars.

I was always partial to Rods RX7 and Bill Sheppards (sp) Calibra.

Just noticed from the spedeworth website, that the National Hot Rods, are not on tomorrow, 1st Jan 2003, at Wimbledon, and have been replaced with Stock Rods.
