Guess they'd start charging just that "little bit" extra for the spectator sections near those "overtaking zones", huh?
You know, just to screw over the fans that little bit more? Or maybe I'm just too cynical in my old age. |

Why not move it into the bin ? As Michael Schumacher's said, the solution is to dramatically shift the adhesion balance from aero to mechanical. But then we've known that for 2 decades and nothing's been done about it. I guess the fact we had a good championship battle last year [without the need for on track overtaking] has got something to do with it.
Anyways, I still feel that my innovative sprinkler system is the way forward ! |

i dont mind the rear wing thing, but the fia need to let the drivers get on with it...they should be able to use it whenever or not at all...otherwise its too artificial

Think Monaco or Albert Park where there are road markings (parking bays) still visible. How is that going to work? Also it's raining and a car touches a line on the outside of the track and spins off - shouldn't have been that far out in the first place perhaps, but what of these lines that have as mentioned above need to be somewhere that can be seen actually on the track. They would be as well painting a constant line on the racing line, but change it's colour for different sections. |

F1 has been shifting everything towards aerodynamics since the early 70s. The OWT (overtaking working group) has to be one of the most cynical exercises in doing the precise opposite of the apparent brief that has ever been accomplished in history! Moving the whole car balance to those huge and overbearing multiple plane and moveable front wings was just a complete JOKE! |

If you've got an hour or so to spare, watch this >
http://smibs.tv/TFL Episode 5 Testing. It gives some insight into what's happening currently in F1, but it also gets the view of someone who has probably done more testing in an F1 car than just about anyone one else. Pedro whole-heartedly wants a reduction in downforce, and he also says: "at the end of the day" quite a lot. |

I remember that Mosley got all the flack for introducing grooved tyres. But it's little known that he gave the teams ample time to come up with other means of slowing the cars down. They didn't, and the rest is history. |

Could it possibly be to do with the fact that most of the people working in F1 teams these days are involved in aerodynamics and are keen on career preservation ?

Ah, those were the days, not only did the following car have to deal with extreme turbulence, it was like following a continually firing shotgun, with all the grit and debris that was churned out by the fan, drivers today don't know what they are missing.

Just imagine what it would have been like following it in the rain.

Oh the days when innovation was actually a part of F1,and things that were bad for racing were actually banned. Twin chassis Lotus as well. Now how long do we think those damn circus front wings that the OWT should be allowed to continue ruining the racing? |
