The Best Historic Car Meetings
For me it has to be Spa followed by Pau. I get so excited comming of the E42 and driving towards the Masta Kink even in the 18Ton Delta Truck its just so magical the cab transformes into the cockpit of a 917 and well you know the rest. We then pull up in Stavot and buy supplies then off to the Track for Set up BBQ and Beers . Pau is a close 2nd because its the most fantastic street circuit you have to give it respect like we did in the 70's non of this Run off area and Gravell traps just good old fashion Armco. Mind you jolly glad they movede the run off back at La Source.

There are some seriously well connected people involved. They are working on a special visa process and customs clearance. Early days but it would be an incredible weekend and certainly unique. Last edited by rogerwills; 27 Oct 2007 at 15:14. |

Le Grand Prix de l'age D'or at Montlehery was amazing, what a track the atmosphere was stunning. We filmed a story on it for In Pit Lane and 4 years on we still get people talking about.
We went back for Dijon two years later and while it was great it just didn't have the same magic. Interesting thing is at both and at Goodwood everybody knew about Phillip Island. Everyone who'd been were going back and those that hadn't been wanted to go. It's a great double come down for PI and then stay the week for Albert Park. One of the world's best circuits no doubt. Sandown is very different, more focus on Touring cars and recently the F5000s. It's slowly growing but doesn't have the International focus that PI has. Winton is Winton. It's May, It's cold, there's way too much f%&#ing Jazz and it's in Benalla. Good selection of bikes though. |
