2003 poetentially to be the strongest ever year for FIA GT?

With a possible 4 Saleen S7Rs, 4 Ferrari 550s, 4 Vipers and 3 Lister Storms in the Main GT class. In the NGT Class there will be the usual teams plus one more addition Veloxq motorsport. So with the 2 Freisgner Porsches, 2 RWS Porsches, 2 Veloxq ferraris and 2 JMB Ferraris it looks to me to be stronger than ever.

At least thats what it sounds like to me on paper. I for one cant wait for the start of the season and hopefully see the Ferraris Saleens and Lister go head and head at the front of the field. Then in NGT the JMB, Friesnger, RWS and Veloxq Motorsport cars battle it out for the NGT class lead.

Roll on 2003!

It's certainly going to be the end of the Lister as a competitive car (much as I hate to say it). With the freeze on Viper development ended, the Ferrari 550's picking up the pace, and the Saleen pretty dominant in most series it's contested, I think it's going to be a three-way battle between these marques. Now if someone can just persuade Porsche to build another GT1 type car.....

I agree with everything u say apart from the stuff about the Vipers a new suspension system wont be enough for the Viper to catch up with the Lister Ferrari and Saleen, I personally dont think. I think Ferrari and Saleen will be the dominant force and Lister will be right behind them along with the best of the vipers.

4 Vipers? I count six or more: 2 Carsport, 2 Labre, 2 Paul Belmondo and one more of Force One. You cannot forget that Team ART and Zwaart Racing are other potencial Viper entrants.

4 Saleen S7R? Two from GNM and no more rumoured

4 Ferrari 550M? Two from Care-Racing and one from Wieth, no more rumourred.

I agree, I'm not sure the new suspension will transform the Viper. However I think with a slight improvement in performance and strength in numbers it may win a few.

It is difficult to see the Lister matching the others next year.

We'll see.

So did I originally but someone told me they were running in the ALMS. And 2 Vipers in the FIA GT series, so I took their word for it. Thinking about it though they probably woudnt have enough cash to run in both series. Particualy the ALMS. Im going back to my previous frame of mind and beliving the Carsport team are only running Zodas in the FIA GT series.

Yes, it's true. Carsport will stay in Europe with two Chrysler Viper GTS-R. I won't be so sure about DART Ferrari.

lol I know the entry list thanks. As for the privateer Porsches RWS and Freisnger are Privateers. They arent even works supported in terms of the actual cars, they have porsche factory drivers occasionaly but not equipment thats AJR. Also FIA GT dosent allow factory teams into the championship.
