DTM Callendar 2009
October 25th Hockenhiem Ring Germay Final round. The Wiggle doesn't seem to have done his homework. |

Does DTM ever play support series to anything? Maybe they do but I doubt it very much. I don't think it would be great for the event either getting a national series in like that as a guest. At least aim higher and try and get the world touring cars or something.
Ta for the link though GTMagic - interesting reading - but it does seem part of a very public negotiation rather than a live suggestion. |

I can't see V8 Supercars being the support series to the DTM....or vice versa...
It's ridiculous! |

Any news about next year's race? I think this year might be the last.

As it's a non-championship race, it would be interesting if they allowed old Champcars to run in the field as well. There would need to be some mothball removal though, and I imagine the former-CCWS teams would rather get more testing time on the dallara. Oh well, one can dream.

Just read an article on the race from the Gold Coast Bulliten and it seems to be all go for this year with a full grid of 24 cars...... Penske has been quoted on saying that both scott and dario will compete.
The full list is coming out at the start of October...... |

As a bonus indycar.com is going to repeat seven previous Surfer's races online in the week up to the race itself - '91, '94, '96, '02, '03, '04, and '06 - one per day from the 16th October. Looking forward to seeing those

Just that small game of musical chairs where Dario jumps in to Dan's seat, Dan jumps into Vitor's seat, Vitor jumps into Darren's seat and Darren gets lost |

Shame about Darren but he was never going to get a ride at this race. He'll be working on next year and could turn up just about anywhere in the world really and do a pretty good job. My money is on A1GP, but just about anything is possible for him.
Good to see a full grid even including 2 Conquest cars - I'm suprised there's no Walker-related entry, but it's pretty much a standard grid, without Roth, which is a good thing. |

One of those occasions where I'm a touch disappointed to be proved right. Would far rather the IRL kept the date but A1GP will do. Some different Armco for John Martin to hit..... |
