Honda CBR 600RR 2004 bike Engine/Gearbox in Single Seater Car

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a project that consists of mounting a Honda CBR600RR 2004 bike engine and gearbox into a single-seater car (similar to the Formula Student Projects).

I need some help and advice in terms of the gearbox.

Basically, what i would like to know is how to get the Neutral from the configuration 1st-Neutral-2nd to Neutral-1st-2nd ?

Also, I was looking of getting rid of the 5th and 6th gear and would like to know how to do this.

Could somebody also give some advice about the effects of changing the output sprocket shaft and also the effects of changing the gear ratios (also the best way to achieve that) please ?

Does someone also know what are the calculations involved in order to obtain the shifting force ?

Any ideas would be most welcomed.

Thanks in advance,

Kev.

Hill climb car kev? If yes then forget about 1st gear apart for use in the pits as it is usually too low and too big a split 1-2. Gear the car to use 2nd onwards, so most use will be 2-3-4
