I can't wait to see it paired up with the Valkyrie. These are just rough images right now too, so I hope the finished project is a little better.

well... just hope these "hypercars" would be about 5m long, so they could use huge diffusers to create the downforce that will lack from smaller wings.

Great find, Kvenom. Hope it looks more aggressive in race trim. Still looks good though, but I prefer the Valkyrie's looks so far.

Have to say it looks a nice mix of both GT and LMP

Wasn't that Kamui also featured in the video?

Interesting to see it running already. Did I hear that Aston are way off getting a race spec Valkyrie lapping circuits?

Do you think Toyota will switch drivers around or will Hartley slot into #8 like Alonso did?

So I'm wondering what this black car is at the linked time in the video?
https://youtu.be/PW8KeHSR_TE?t=13 That doesn't look like the GR Super Sport but another prototype that's lower and sleeker. |

I don't think that's got anything to do with the Toyota LMP1 hypercar, unless it's maybe testing some mechanical parts.

It'd be interesting to know when the filming takes place, same with the new video of the camo'd GR Super Sport. I think back when the Super Sport was revealed in early 2018, they said it was already track testing. I wonder if the black car was an early prototype for it or if these are two separate cars.
The new hypercar lmp1 isn't going to be the road car Super Sport. Lots of sites are confusing their readers saying this. Toyota confirmed that the hypercar lmp1 would be a prototype (lmp), not a road car. I think all the images are just teaser illustrations of what it could possibly look like but I doubt it'll be the exact car. Maybe just inspiration from it. |

I'm thinking basically a Toyota DPI-like car based on a hybrid of the TS050 and the GR Super Sport.

I'm so confused. I thought the Hypercars needed a 25 unit run of road cars, and the Super Sport concept shown in white last year was basically a preview of that. Same for car shown in the testing videos, as the road version of the Valkyrie will be to the version they race.

According to Takehiko Morozumi tweet,
Toyota #7's trouble was due to the fact that the internal pressure sensor on the front right and the rear right were assembled in reverse. It seems to be a human error during a 19 hour monocoque exchange. (It is usually a four-day task at the factory.) https://twitter.com/morozumi_careye/...92825763405825 https://twitter.com/morozumi_careye/...93107964731392 |

So does that mean that the tub change was what ultimately cost the #7 the race win?

The #7 is lucky it didn't have more punctures during the racing that would have been a nightmare

The tyre pressure sensors are built into the wheels, so change each stop. It is unlikely every set had similar errors. If it had occured on a set of tyres which didn't have a puncture they probably would have noticed that the front and rears were swapped as they'd be acting differently.
