AdeV should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Can anyone recommend an engine builder?

In the North West ideally, Merseyside/Cheshire region, maybe South Lancs, will consider North Wales & North Shropshire too.

Basically.... I have a Ford Essex V6 in pieces, which needs assembling and dynoing. There should be no need to buy parts, although I can't confirm that.

The engine was last assembled about a year ago, when it shed a core plug, closely followed by a gudgeon pin. The block has since been sleeved, but no other work carried out, much to my annoyance.

I'd prefer not to have to pay £'000s for this, as I've already shelled out £'000s, and got nothing but a couple of boxes of bits to show for it

I would recommend John Toovey of Cannock. My 2.9 cologne is always reliable and he manages to get good power and torque figures for not a lot of money. Good engine builder and very knowledgeable when it comes to Ford V6's.

Yes - that's him

Ric Wood, however, dominated Mod Saloons with his Essex V6 powered Capris.

Then again, Ade, you'd know that.......

Moved to racer's forum - you may get other responses there.

I'd go for Ric Wood too.

I'd recommend Ric Wood too . He rebuilt my 2.8 a few years back and it was superb.... The best there is for this engine.

Ric built the engine in my BMW "316" trackday car, definitely knows about engines.

Amateur like me mentions valve sizes and gas flows, Ric gives me a slightly sideways funny look, explains that he's gas flowed it and it doesn't need bigger valves because the ports are bang on and the head flows better than the one with bigger valves, and I shut up.

Not 100% cheap though, I would advise getting a price in writing up front for fear of all the bits that can get added on in a moment with a phone call.
