I'm not asking for the Ritz here. Any suggestions from fellow forum members, or are the answers a closely-guarded secret?
How many in your party? If a few may be worth looking for self catering accommodation in the area. Some friends of mine book part of a barn conversion for the w/end, and catch the Goodwood bus into circuit. Works well and lot cheaper!

I have friends from Killinchy who take a camper or three over. Last year they wanted me to throw my tent in and go with them. However, Angouleme is the same weekend and I intend going there this year (just to spectate) providing I can find an inexpensive way to get there! But if you are able to camp I could ask them to bring you. Although be warned, it is a boys only weekend and I would recommend you pitch your tent as far away as possible! Those Killinchy men know how to enjoy themselves.

Surely sleeping in a Cider induced coma in a puddle of your own urine is better than Travelodge? There are loads of B&B's in Worthing . . . . loads of retirement homes in Littlehampton, Loads of campsites in Sussex and South of Chi.

Many thanks for all the helpful suggestions - I'll have to make a decision soon .I'm a bit of a loner (shades of Richie Ginther in the desert!) and don't mind my own company.

I'll check out B & Bs in the area - i will be hiring a car at the airport anyway so travel is not a problem.

The 90 minute Freddie March Trophy race on Friday evening is going to be great.

Need to check my tank is big enough.........that'll be a LOT of fuel.

George and Zoe!

I'm hearing of all sorts of "development" going on. Trick bearings to reduce friction and a revised pedal assembly that changes gearing. I suspect we have no chance!!

Much as I suspected . . . Arthur is nominated driver, the Entrant has a period correct car, I think we will manage to get some testing and practice in prior to the event, and the driver is bang on or under racing weight however much cheesy pasta and ice cream he eats (lucky sod!)

I recommend a KERS-type system involving a concealed Mars bar and a bottle of Lucozade.....

I'm not sure what the race format will be, I'm guessing it'll be start finish straight with a temporary chicane?

THe only pedal car we have here is a Lotus 49 and a Lambretta trike so we are fortunate that the entrant is too tall to drive his!

Actually Roger I am led to believe that GW are going to be issuing a set of eligibilty papers for the Setterington Cup and all cars are going to be scruted so straying too far from the ethos of the event may be handicapped accordingly! They are also building miniature 'pits' and providing period race gear and helmets etc. We have a team of 3 cars entered and prep is well underway! Although the Cobra race will be a highlight for me, whoever came up with the J40 race is a genius.

we are going for a matching father and son race car paint job....
Our Austin will sport Laystall green and a tartan
fingers crossed that my Lotus 18 gets the nod later
couldnt bring myself to paint the Austin in German DKW racing white.

To but some life in this thread. It is almost time and really looking forward to this. How many of you are going to this event? And where are you staying.

I will join the full day's and stay somewhere around Arundel. Travel with my old car and join the racing team...

I don't recall full entry lists ever being released publicly before the event. I guess the competitors must get them though.

The only info is here:
