Books: What motorsport books

Hi

I was wondering if anybody has any good books for learning about racing cars from. Like set ups and stuff.

The only motrsport book I have read is the mechanics tale thought it was very intresting about what mechanics have to do, and what the world of F1 is actually like.

The Carroll Smith series of books used to be the racing mechanics' bibles. They are out of date on modern suspensions and computers but the mechanics' basics are all there. Titles are "Prepare to Win", "Tune to Win", "Engineer to Win" and Design to Win" They were written in the mid 70's so 'Design' is out of date but the basics are there. They are also probably out of print. I may have quit working on race cars a while ago but I am not giving up my copies!

Check some of the on line motorsport book stores. You might also try Amazon. Another possibility is to enter Carroll's name in a search engine and see if anyone is listing his books for sale. Good Luck.

Hi

I have ordered a book called Race car engineering and mechanics by Paul Van Valkenburgh, I have ordered it off Smiths but it has taken ages.

Does anybody know where I can get one in the next week, any shops that might have it.
