I agree with you a bit GT2001, but the thing is it's not a factory Alfa, so why should JS promote Alfas colours.

Who will be driving it? From what i've heard JSM will now enter only 3 BTCT spec 147's for Enzo Mucci, Dave Pinkney and Darren Malkin. In BTCP, Danny Wright and Ted Reddick will drive their two cars.

Unoffically there's been a lot of behind the scenes help from Italy
Don't want to disagree with you Redshoes but I thought it was the opposite. According to my sources, Turin are more than a little Pi**ed off with JS. For a start they don't want the 147 run as a BTC-T, only a production. That is why they built it in that mode. If they enter a works team to race BTC-T in 2002 they will use a 156. That is why they refused to let NordAuto build a 147 Tourer for JS and they have had to build it themselves. If Alfa enter a works 156 in 2002, it won't look too good for Alfa if it is against a 147. Another reason why they won't run it in red. I for one hope that GA whup their ars*s.

Your right BTC-P fan. It was something to do with marketing the 147 in the right way. Why JS didn't decide to run another make of car, I don't know. They still are promoting the Alfa 147 because it is an Alfa. Are they getting any help from Alfas UK division?

I agree with BTC-P fan. I heard that alfa UK and Italy are no happy with JS, I've also heard they tried to set up another team just to beat JSM. I hope GA thrash JSM.

I am glad that I am not the only one who hates JS. They are so full of bull, it is untrue. I admire any team that tries to take on the big-boys, but they have been so over the top it is ridiculous. The way they have gone about things is so unprofessional. As I said b4, I hope that Gary Ayles and his team wipe the floor with them.

It's a great shame GA didn't enter in the BTCT rather than in the BTCP. If they had entered in the BTCT with their 156's i'm sure Alfa UK would have provided some help in terms of costs and development, and would be much more competitive than JSM will be.

It sounds to me you would prefer 2 less BCT-T cars just because they are the wrong model for next year.
I would say I would like to see anything racing around rather than sit there and watch 2 or maybe 4 Astras and a couple of Pugs. |

No, you are wrong, I wouldn't like to see 2 less BTC-T cars. I was just correcting the illusion that JS have Alfa backing. It is another of their "spins" (or lies if you prefer). If they had been staright and realistic instead of bullsh**ing, they could have been the peoples champions. Instead, most people see them as imcompetent oafs. It is not my opinion that the model is wrong, it is Alfa, Turin. It is just another example of JS's incompetence. Why did they not build BTC-T 156's and received Alfa's blessing?

I know that Alfa would not back JSM this year because they do not like him and think he is incompetent. He made some enemies in the Alfa Romeo Championship he contested in last year and became greatly disliked by the organisers and competitors.

I can only go by what John Shields told me, which was "there has been a lot of help from Italy, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be where we are today". Don't have the tape to hand so it's not an exact quote but close enough.

You have to wonder! In any case, wouldn't it have made more sense to go for 156's in the BTCT because of their size, for one thing! The 147 is tiny, especially when compared to the other cars competing (especially the 406 coupe!). The 156 would have also had the support of Turin.
