It's the same car. He was telling people that as he was autographing programmes.

I just stumbled upon this thread whilst looking for "stuff" on the old BTCC and the next page on google shows that the ex Trakstar car is or was up for sale

http://www.rallycarsforsale.net/inde...tails&id=71451

Looks a bit of a state now though

I assume you would be buying just the chassis number and alledged providence for that price as it looks like scrap to me.

If I'm reading the ad correctly, the purple shell is presumably the ex-Gravett car. Rodrigues ran it in a number of rounds of the Portuguese touring car championship and at Macau as late as 1994- there are a couple of pics in the 1994 Touring Car World annual showing the car in the purple 'Gianfranco' colourscheme. Incidentally, it seems to have been converted to LHD

It can be seen briefly at about 1m10 in this Youtube clip of Macau '94-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xagxYqXr5fo

there are 4 more parts of Macau 1994 on Youtube, so it probably turns up in some of the others as well- I haven't watched them all yet. Rodrigues finished 10th in both races.

Hello,

I'm looking for information about this car's history, so if someone has information about it, please post it here or pm me.

The car:
Group A Sapphire (1989, ex-Selzer)
Chassis number: SAT1010 (the last digit could be a D too)

Thanks in advance!

Good to see those back in the UK- Looks like you've got a fair challenge there, and I hope you'll keep us posted!

Interesting to see the traces of the red/yellow Shell colours under the 'Gianfranco' scheme on the purple car- So I'm guessing that's the Gravett car, and the black car was originally the second/spare car that was never raced in the UK?

First, the original Rouse car raced by Ray Bellm and Chris Hodgetts in 1990- http://www.supertouring.co.uk/gallery/1990/bellm_90.jpg
It appeared again briefly in the BTCC in 1993 with subsequent owners Jim Wheals and Bob Berridge, but what happened to it after that?
It ended up in the hands of Steve Papworth in Formula Saloons. This has just surfaced on Facebook this week in a post on the Andy Rouse page. Looking at some photos from Google images, it's the same car with the cutouts on the wings.

There's also a photo of it in the middle of the grid on a media day for Formula Saloons.

Apparently it's rotting in a field now.
