Autosport International tickets
Has anyone tried to book tickets for this? When I dial the advertised number 0870 902 0444 I get a recorded message 'press 1 for Autosport ,etc' I press 1 -total silence followed by the same message. This has happened a dozen times since last thursday. An e-mail to the Autosport website has brought no reply so far.

Are they on sale via the NEC website? That might be an alternative.

As an MSA Licence Holder you can attend on the trade days. There is a booking form for Licence Holders on the Autosport International web site.

Check the website, there is no Friday Goldcard. Friday is for TRADE ONLY, no public admission available.

Cant you just make up a motorsport business and go as trade like everyone else does. All you have to do is say you are a self employed motor racing mechanic.

Rob29, I'm confused. Why are the public allowed in on a Trade day?

I don't agree with public access on trade days, the public already have 2 days.
Trade days are meant for business, hence the large quota of suits and the lack of anoraks. The public days are there purely to make the event viable. The public come to see Michelle Marsh and Lucy Pinder, I cant see many suits queuing up to meet them on the trade days. Maybe it says more about the standard of the show that Autosport are willing to let public in on the Friday. |

Two options here:
1) Call Autosport in Teddington: 0208 267 5804 or call 2) Autosport International: 0208 307 2300 They should be able to help. |

IMO the general public on the Friday are a nuisance, but if Autosport want the extra cash for those days what do my thoughts count. |

Lucy Pinder and Michelle Marsh are page 3 models.
I think the kids you saw on trade day could of been kart racers (or formula bmw drivers). Is it me or are the drivers getting younger nowadays. |

In a venue the size of the NEC, 3,000 people is not going to make a huge amount of difference, they certainly dont get in the way enough to stop trade deals occuring, which will generally happen in the business zone anyway which has restricted access. In any case, its these public which will end up paying to go and sit on the banking in the cold and wet at a race track simply for the love of the sport. If they didn't do this, there would be no sport anyway so no need for a trade day. I'm sure many fans regard the multitude of corporate hospitality guests at race weekends as a nuisance as well.

Thanks mcurtis26,I was begining to wonder if I was in the wrong forum here.I thought it was for enthusiasts? Also thanks to 'fan' for the first serious sugestion to my problem.
The attitude of certain posters here is maybe why there are few people nowdays prepared to stand on cold spectator banks? Last edited by EvilPumpkin; 11 Dec 2004 at 11:18. Reason: Attack the post, not the poster please. |

Unfortunately any form of privileged pass will always be abused by somebody. The concept of trade visitor is taken quite broadly, many of the fans who visit on a gold cold contribute more to the sport than a bogus trade visitor.
I'd always taken the Gold Pass as a way of Autosport giving something back to the grass roots fans, something which unfortunately seems to occur less and lesss these days with rising ticket prices at most events (the big exception to this being the excellent value at #10 and very fan friendly Brit F3/GT events). |
