Driver of the race: Indian Grand Prix
Who?
Rosberg for me. 2nd in the Mercedes. Didn't need team orders. Last edited by Born Racer; 27 Oct 2013 at 17:12. |

Remember Vettel in a Torro Rosso ploughing into the back of a Red Bull ? Lewis falling off into the Gravel in a pit lane ! Then, when they've peeked like DC, Webber etc, chuck em out and get some new talent in and see what they've got ! ...but give 'em a couple or three seasons to achieve it ! |

Massa. I thought he drove an excellent race. For once he didn't have to play second fiddle to Alonso, who was completely out of the picture due to his ill-handling Ferrari, after he damaged the front wing at the start and so there was no 'interference' from the team.

Vettel...
Despite the remote control destruction of Webber's car, the fact that Newey is solely responsible for his success and of course Turkey 2010 & Multi-21 not to mention the dreaded finger; he overcame a questionable decision to start on the rubbish soft tyre, did exactly what he needed to do at the start and worked from, what was it P8 back to contention before many made their first stops and ultimately back to P1 and the race win and his 4th WDC...doughnuts, emotion and history. Congratulations kid, even though I root for Ferrari, you deserved it!! HM to RoGro - the, "thank goodness there is someone besides Vettel that may not make me look too biased" choice. ;-). |

Grosjean by far. Started 17th, finished on the podium and in a Lotus at that. Impressed. Awesome drive. Much better than clearing out half the field dive bombing into the 1st turn of the race like Spa last year.
Vettel? Eh, best team, best car, best engine... |

In fairness, you imply that 'in a Lotus at that' is a sign that a Lotus is an amazing car to achieve that in. Not to detract from your personal choice, but it's not world's apart from Vettel's best team, best car, best engine situation.

The Lotus is in 4th with only 285 points and is well known to be struggling financially all season, they've even been late paying their drivers. The RedBull will get to 500 points before Lotus reaches 300. That alone is substantial, even before looking at qualifying results and all out pace. Last edited by Dragger; 27 Oct 2013 at 20:54. |

Romain. 17th to 3rd in a great drive, preserving his tyres and showing his supposed team leader how to do it. Prat of the race to Kimi for trying to hold him back when he should have known it was idiotic to do so.... Ferrari ought to be wondering if they took the wrong Lotus driver......
And yes, a very definite well done to Seb. A great achievement by a great driver. But roll on 2014. |

Not sure I follow that......? If he'd done it in a Red Bull, it would be expected. Doing it in a Lotus was a darned good show.

Vettel, he just dominated for three years a track that now officially becomes a trivia question.
Romain was amazing too, I'm impressed with his recent form and hope he can keep this level consistently. |

grosjean, because it goes without saying that vettel couldn't have driven a better race than he did.
romain's on a roll, and it's really good to see him actually be the driver he's always shown that he could be. special mention to van der garde for his hissy fit about chilton though. nice to see he's got bored of blaming bianchi |

Not to take anything away from Grosjean's drive, but it was the one stop strategy that worked so well for him. That and the fact that the Lotus can use tyres better than any other car put him on the podium, but he still had to drive the thing.
My point? Why do tyres control the results at least as much as the driver? We don't really know who was the driver of the race. |

Was he? I don't know. If so, it obviously gives him a claim on the nationality. But no-one ever mentions Germany being a part of his life, whereas we are always hearing about him going to school in Monaco. Perhaps he's just a "citizen of the world" who likes the German national anthem better than the the other choices.
