They [F3today] are saying that Davidson has said he is doing 30 test days and going to all the 'fly-aways' as 3rd driver.

I have heard that Skippy Courtney has a similar deal with Jag.

If this is true then Hooray! The F3 title for 2002 is up for grabs! Davidson was very impressive this year, and in my opinion all he's got to gain by doing the series next year is the championship. I just hope he can get the backing to move on to a higher formula, whether it's throuhg F1 testing or not.

Well it has been confirmed by Motorsport News as no doubt Autosnort will have it as an exclusive tomorrow.

So who does that leave a favourites for 2002?

In my book it would be Hayes, Kerr, Jouanny, Bruni.

This assumes they all come back again. Jouanny looks like he might be off to Japan though.

I've heard that Gianmaria Bruni will be joining Coloni in F3000 so who does that leave as championship favorites?

Well Courtney looks set to go test for Jag like Davidson has.

Mark Taylor is very quick some time as is Hayes.

The other 3 are all in there 1st year against some experince so i supose my money would be on Kerr, Hayes or Jouanny for a consistant performance or even someone like Gibler.

Davidson to BAR - No F3 in 2002

I'm gutted that Davidson's not doing F3 next season! The title has gone to non Brit's for the past two years, Oh well if he's got a chance to test F1's who can blame him! Mark Taylor with Manor looks like a good bet he picked up a lot of speed towards the end of the championships. But don't discount Festival winner Alan van der Merwe at Carlin, he will make a steady start as a rookie but he's a mature youngman and has had some successes in his dad's classic Chevron BDA 2 litre sports racer, whipping a lot of experienced old hands.
