One has to remember that Cheever intially was scheduled to run a mere three races though, but ended up doing seven, so it's not like this is a huge surprise.

Probably time the 2 championships merged - there just isn't enough money to go around 2 championships in the shadow of NASCAR. Rather like the Middle Eastern situation, both sides are going to have to make some compromises if either want to survive.
