Quaife Motorsport News Saloons

There was some good racing at Brands at the weekend and from a spectators point of view the Quaife Saloons/Intermarque race had some of the best action of the weekend, well done to all those involved.

Does DMN not exist anymore then? Where did the Cossies and the Skylines go?

Benny, it's a change of one of the sponsors, so Quaife have replaced the old sponsor and Motorsport News remain co-sponsor to the series.

Thanks Tim but didnt the Quaife Intermarque League exist by itself alongside DMN before? Have the 2 series merged into 1 now?

It seemed a much faster set of cars than DMN used to have, does it still allow all the smaller more standard 205s and other hot hatches that used to race in DMN or have they gone elsewhere now as well?

What was DMN has now become QMN due to a change in sponsorship as Tim explained.

The Quaife Intermarque League still exists as a separate series.

We also have the Cannons TinTop Challenge which picks up some of the less modified cars.

Although there have been some minor tweaks to the class regulations in each of the series overall they remain more or less the same.

With the numbers of entries that we have been getting we have been running 2 grids with the three series and usually split them depending on the average laptimes. The TinTops usually run in one grid, sometimes with the less powerful cars from both the QMN and intermarques, depending on the numbers (these ran on Saturday at Brands) and then the more powerful cars from QMN and the intermarques usually run together (these ran on the Sunday at Brands.)

It's got a few little tweeks. Being busy prepping and running other people's cars for the last couple of years, and even though still doing that, will be good to get back out there

Cracking show at Brands last weekend, somewhat doubt the BTCC will equal the quality of racing this weekend but can guarantee the egos will be greater and the damage considerable more.

Yeah I can understand that.

Well If anyhting this can be viewed as a positive step, as there may be multi-car battles upfront!

Really pleased for Ash today - an outright win Dreadful luck for Malcolm Wise though (losing a wheel - well, hub really - it looked like it took the whole lot clean off) Glad the weather held off too - after looking at the forecast I thought it might have been a horrible day. Not sure if they'll get away with it tomorrow though. Bill lunched the gearbox again so it's back to Ashford for another one and start from the back tomorrow.

The tin tops race was a cracker too, Butler long gone at the front but a fantastic 5 way scrap going on for 4th. Have to say that Graham Richardsons drive from the back of the grid was superb.

Hope tomorrow stays dry
