DALY should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I understand Jamie is hoping to get out for 8th August, there are at least 21 other people who have verbally committed to it.

I don't want to sound like a scratched record but commitment, discussions, excitement are nothing without the real cheque and entry forms on the table. Having been involved for a year or two it is noticable that more and more people talk about the high cost of entries, don't want to offend, but when a lower cost comes along and the race is not fully subscribed to, the argument for lowering entry costs has just dissappeared. Without racers entering, there will be no races for clubs to organise.

Please support this race if you can!!

Daly - I'm told by Jamie that Infiniti will mailing his entry form in the next day or two. My only regret, I don't think I'll be able to watch, as I've ruputure my achilles tendon and following a reconstruction op' next Monday will be on crutches for a month. That said, I'll have enough carbon fibre in my ankle to repair Justin's car after one of his shunts - all he has to do is make me an offer!!!

Peter,

The only reason that i have not entered for this race is that i budget for a season and, especially with some damage to repair this season, cannot afford to do extra races that have come about after the ones that i have already committed to.

This race sounds great and the value IS fantastic. However i think that people ask for lower entry costs in general rather than for one off meetings.

I know a lot of effort has gone into this meeting and i hope it is as successful as it deserves to be. I would have really enjoyed being part of it.

David

Thanks - I will bear it in mind, especially as Carbon Fibre is now legal!

Is it? Could be a 'beer money' job for my mate whose job it is to make engine cowlings for Harriers and always tells me he could sort me anything from the offcuts...

I've entered the Edwina's race and have received a delightful note back from the Morgan Car Club saying that is has been received and they will consider my application further and let me know! How quaint.

He is only one of many! Just the one with the highest 'score' so far in the racing 'division' but nowhere near the Top 50 for 'general clientele.'

Thanks for the responses, I understand the budget issues David, no problem.

My idea is to gauge the response and see if £140 is a better entry fee and "look, when we charged £140 we had reserves!!!"

Keep the entries coming, i'm off to ......a place called Spa Francorchamps.
Imagine the drivers buying power.....it's called market forces.

mattray has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Thats one of the main reasons I have entered!(other then the unbearable pressure from Ian and Matt) £140 for potentially 2 races, I have voted with my entry lets try and get reserves spread the word!!

Justin - Did I see you mention Neil Cunningham ?!
Suppose that means I have to start trying to unearth the car from where I put it after he climbed out of it in May 2003. It hadn't moved for two years prior to that, and it certainly hasn't moved since!

Redracer - I understand you met Jamie at last Fridays Porsche instructors session - 180/190 mph down the straight sounds like it was good fun!!

Looking forward to you joining up with Jamie and Matt at Infiniti Motorsport for the Edwina trophy.

Hi No 4,

Unfortunately I was on a beach in Majorca last week so not sure that I met Jamie!!! Although I did get to race a Rotax Max kart while I was away I would have preferred to test a Porsche!!!

I would like to be out for the Edwina but am not sure at the moment.

UPDATE
The trophies have been sorted out with the assistance and help of James Beckett. James has also put up one FREE entry to the Walter Hayes in November for the highest placed eligible driver. (ie. someone who has not already won an entry to WHT 2004)
There is a main trophy to the winner, this is a perpeptual trophy and will also have a replica for keeps. There will then be class first, second and third. The prize money is available on the day. Many thanks to J Miller & Co, Hewitt Motorsport, Daly Systems, Mallory Park and Mr Ron Overend.

ALL competitors will receive a momento from Mallory Park for taking part in what the Overends see as a special day.

I have had discussions with the circuit about testing and also potential storage of cars between testing and the race day. Details will be confirmed shortly. You may be aware that this weekend is BSB and they are all pretty busy.

Entries to date, from memory and verbal commitments;
Infiniti 3 drivers
Team West-tec 3 drivers
Marque Cars 2 drivers
Parsons 2 drivers (Darcy, Robertson)
Dawkins, Hewitt, Daly, Rivett, Wild, Leslie, Radford, Miller,Simms, Hunt, Mason, Morgan, Millichamp, Cunningham and many many more.

If you have not entered, please send away the forms today.

The Mallory park regs and entry form can be found on the MSCC web site now.

The direct access is www.mscc.uk.com/mallory2004supregulations.pdf and www.mscc.uk.com/malloryentryform.pdf

Looking forward to lots of entries.

Thanks for the support, £140 races don't come round very often. Let's prove that the entry fee makes teh race attractive.
