Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton 2018 - Clacton Stages
Regs are out now for this, and entries open Feb 11th at 9am.
Find them here : http://corbeauseatsrally.co.uk/competitors/ If you are not entering then please do come out and marshal, we need a LOT of marshals for this first ever event. You will need to be MSA registered as a marshal. You can register to marshal using the below link https://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/civicrm/e...?reset=1&id=68 |

This looks like being a great event - good to see a club taking the bold step to go for a closed road event. It'll be interesting to see what the reaction is like locally once the event has taken place.

Not long now until this event, the entry is looking pretty strong:
https://mtc1.uk/Entry/CSRTC18/EntryList.php It looks like spectator access is being tightly controlled - best to err on the side of caution for this first closed road event I think! |

Understandable.
Just hope it is not just pens, miles away from the action. Do you know anything yet Bert? |

http://corbeauseatsrally.co.uk/spectators-2/ It's limited viewing areas - but they're actually quite close to the stages (but again not necessarily the viewing angles I'd go for given free reign). Also I can see them being quite crowded - I guess they've got no idea how many people will show up. |

Of course you can get closer to the action and support the event by marshalling... Cheers Matt Endean Clacton Stages Chief Marshal |

Good to see this rally going ahead. I’ve lots of happy memories of road rallying in Essex in my youth!
I hear that there was a last minute bid by some locals to stop the rally (at a council meeting) last night, but the motion was defeated. |

Pens are truly awful though and if it's busy they will be crowded and a mess and that might also lead to people doing stupid things.
I dont like it, but there is no choice, I would imagine hte course cars will be super vigilant. If you know the area you might be able to sneak a view elsewhere but I very much doubt it |

Good to see one of the local Ford dealers getting involved with supporting the event - they've got 2 cars from Fords heritage collection on display - a Björn Waldegård Mk2 Escort RS1800 and the star of the show - RS200 chassis #200 (one for the real RS200 geeks there!).

Bert, do you know
Is there access to the stages between runs? There must be surely? I am thinking of going, but not sure I can access any time? |

But yes I believe so is the answer (not that it helps much now). There were two spectator areas and I know people were moving between the two. Seems to have been a well run event from what I've seen of the social media coverage - also seems to have been well received by the locals which is a big plus. Well done to the organisers - a lot of work went into the event and it seems to have paid off. |
