Budweiser Shootout - Daytona
The season is upon is and this weekend it kicks off with the annual exhibition race, the Bud Shootout at Daytona.
This will be the first race in the CoT at Daytona and it will be interesting to see how it goes there. Hopefully it will race better than it did at some tracks last season. The entry list and grid can be found in the link below, Kurt Busch drew the pole. http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2008...ta/lineup.html Prediction: Dale Jr to win. |

Speed seems to be er, speedy. I'm guessing Dumarey came thru CAMSO.
What time GMT do the races start? |

I think that it will be either Jr or Jeff. Maybe we will see a little more of what HMS cars can do.

Would be good to see someone apart from the usual suspects win.... Maybe a Yeley, Blaney or Newman..... Seeing Hendrick win 18 points paying races kinda gets repetitive after a while.
Still.... It up to everyone else to catch up. |

I am rooting for Jr this year. It will be interesting to see him in some good cars. However, it will still take some time getting use to a new organization, maybe an hour or two.

That #25 team's (#88) equipment generally hasn't been as good as the 5, 24 and 48 in recent years though...

Kurt and Tony resume battle then. I expect Tony to come out with some highly hypocritical remark about safety any time soon.
That video, when they cut to the 9 onboard, I immediately thought "ah, we're onboard with Dale Jr". Oh and the cars were running real loose in practice, it is gonna be wild when they race. |

I think that Tony should be ok regarding the on-track incident. Kyle Petty and others were saying that it was just a racing incident on track. However, the pit road thing by Kurt Busch was a deliberate and stupid move. Pit road is not the place to take out ones anger. In today's newspaper some reporters were saying Kurt should be penalized by not allowing him to run in the Daytona 500, which may be a little severe IMO.

Kurt had a much worse pitlane infringement at Dover last year if you remember, he nearly took out one of Stewarts crew.
He shouldn't be allowed to wreak his havoc like this to be honest. And I think Kurt and Tony should sort out their differences. |
