Johnnie Walker still sponsor McLaren. I just thought with tobacco sponsorship virtually gone, the drinks market would be a good choice as it's never been as prominent in F1 as it has in Indy Car or Nascar.

As for Jaime Alguersuari, they'd stick him in the other car with the other major sponsors name.

They should bring back tobacco sponsorship. Totally idiotic the way it was outlawed.

Hey, ive got a framed painting of a 1991 McLaren, a 1994 Williams and an 1985 Lotus on my wall, oh noes! They are permenant tobacco adverts, ban them!

Never smoked in my life.

awrb should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I agree it should be brought back. I remember Stephen Fry saying on QI that the ban on tobacco advertising has actually been good for the tobacco industry! They were all spending millions just to keep up with each other, so when none of them could advertise it didn't matter, because none of their competitors were either. So now the tobacco companies are getting richer and richer, and not spreading the wealth like they used to. So we basically have a multi-billion pound industry thats just sucking in money and not spending it.

And lets face it, who's going to start smoking because the word Marlboro is on the side of the car. And I thought smoking was legal anyway... A different argiument for another day.

I have never been able to fathom how governments could ban the advertising of a product that was legal to sell and which governments taxed the the h#%& out of anyway... It was totally hypocritical.
They either made it illegal (lost tax revenue) or its legal (to advertise). Health? Put the tax revenue into anti-smoking advertising and paying the health bill.....

I've never been able to fathom the hypocracy surrounding Tony Blair and the deal he did with Ecclestone.
