ERC attend: Netherlands or Belgium

I can't decide which event to go to.

Unfortunately I don't get back until Monday but I eagerly await the poll results

I'd say Belgium, simply because you can see the whole track from most areas. Valkenswaard has the pits in the middle of the track, so viewing is restricted. The welcome you get at either is pretty amazing. If possible do both and stay at the track in Holland with most of the drivers!

At Belgium you can see whole the track, and your much closer to the action. But as a downside, it is extremely difficult to get a decent spot because anti-social people fence off everything for themselves. Also Belgium has a jokerlap which hurts the action.
At The Netherlands there is plenty of space for everybody. They also put up grandstands but they cost extra to enter. (entry is still cheaper than in Belgium though). As a downside, you can see maximum of 65-75% of the track, and from most spots you probably see less than 50%.

No contest - Belgium is by far the better event.

Better viewing and better entry plus you dont get the fallout from the previous week's event as you do in Holland.

Do not believe...

Please do not believe WJM. He's from Holland.

Belgium :
You can completely see the track.
You can have a look in the paddock for free
Jokerlap
Good food
unfriendly people

Holland:
you can see only 67.59% from the track (average)
cheap basic entrace
Have to pay extra to take a look in the paddock
cheap food
lot's of Dutch folks
you should try the "bami hap"

I could have sworn I paid 30 euros including pits for Valkenswaard and 35 euros for Maasmechelen. I may have had too much though...

But actually you should do both. A flight between Eindhoven and London costs 10 euro according to Ryanair so there is no excuse. And just look at how exciting the ERC is at the moment, this is not the moment to miss races!

Damn right, maybe us social people can set their tents on fire
It is a wonder people are allowed to do this,we all have to pay to watch.
I hope someone of the organisation, reads this and does something about it.

We also have a sort of rainshield, but other people stand under it... is that also called associal?

Another positive point for Belgium (altough previous years) : The supernationals...

Not an easy task, but:

Maasmechelen:
+ Better view
+ You can see the start (I like that) and tyre warm up
+ Nice and cold beverages / drinks
+/- One entrance price
- Slow track
- Lot of fences and "fighting" for places and views "my line do not cross"
- You need specials coins for beverages / drinks

Valkenswaard:
+ Quicker circuit
+ Camping and parking close to the track
+ Close to Center Parcs for swimming and eating
- No change of getting close to the start
- Not seeing the complete track
- Annoying commentator (who can't even see the first and second corner!)
- Not so cold beverages / drinks

In my case I let weather and other events (Festivals, LoveParade, F1 in R'dam) decide my choise... Not decided yet!

This year I will try to make my first visit to Belgium. I've been to the ERC in Valkenswaard since 1996! So my vote has to go to Holland. It's the favorite track of the rallycross drivers and fans alike. Maybe you can't seen everything but that's with most of the tracks in this area. The atmosphere is always great, the action is thrilling and you guys are forgetting that you can walk into the paddock after the A Final. Plus if you want to see the cars up close just go to Parc Ferme.
