Team Manager
I thought that Walmsley, the old Team Manager had left Strakka and Karl Patman took over his role?
Now I see that he is back again! What happened there........didn't get paid enough elsewhere, Patman not up to the job? Just curious as to why musical managers chair.... and hope it doesn't change things for the car being ready for Austin. |

Minoru Hayashi will retire in 2015.
Therefore, Dome is re-arranging business scale now. Dome continues 2015 or subsequent ones as a company. |

So an Interlagos debut for the car according to DSC.
Lots of logical arguments for why it's so late etc, but nonetheless does nothing to alter my opinion that this is a troubled project. |

Yes, reading between the lines of the DSC piece, it does suggest that there's been a major design issue with the rear end of the car.
Given the fact that once it races, they're apparently locked in on homologation for 3 years, I guess it makes sense to take their time and make sure it's right, but this latest delay does suggest that the previously announced problems were a lot more fundamental than we thought... |

I'm not impressed. And can't imagine that any potential customers are either.

What does this mean for dome projects? Do they continue windtunnel work elsewhere? |

So with Mr. Hayashi retiring and Strakka still delaying the P2 car, I feel that Dome will be bought soon afterwards or just relegated to a smaller company.

Oreca/Rebellion and OnRoak/Ligier delivered competitive packages for Le Mans this year, Dome could have done it but they´ve failed. Even Lotus-Kolles apprently are doing better. |

Sadly, I agree with Starfish Primer, I think Strakka have been suckered mightily with the S103. They'd be better off getting their hands on something like an ARX-04 or a Ligier, and quickly. |

In my mind Dome has always shown good ideas, and very interesting fast machines. Their "problem" is that their ambitions in their development department doesn't follow suit with the budget.
Therefor the reliability and speed of development doesn't get the proper priority of the budget. If Dome where selected by a manufacture and given a proper budget, I think we would see a car running with the top. |

Sad news.
Minoru Hayashi's road going sports car plan (TOWA) has frustrated. He is disputing with the divorced former wife by the distribution of property. He says that alomst all money for M&A for Dome carbon magic were taken by his former wife. He brought the suit to his former wife. http://hayashiminoru.com/wp-content/...58b5520328.pdf |

According to Hayashi's statement,
A part of property of Dome was a former wife name in tax-reduction strategy. Therefore, M&A money for Dome carbon magic was paid to her. However, she claims that those property is her separate estates. |

And this might be an unfair statement, but it seems to me that Dome/Hayashi is able to generate a lot of drama for a small company/single person. Richard |

Watts & Kane
Have Danny Watts and Jonny Kane done any racing this year? Seems odd if they haven't been farmed out to someone to keep them sharp (and interested).

Minoru Hayashi sells the Dome company to Takahiro Ikawa on July 15, 2015.
Hayashi is inaugurated as advisor of Dome company. New owner is the son of the owner of Daio Paper Corporation. http://www.dome.co.jp/news/news/dt_142.html Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 9 Oct 2014 at 08:44. |

Does the article describe a proposed future sale or is the date wrong and the company has been sold already? |

The transfer of ownership will be started from January, 2015.
The effective date of dealing is July 15, 2015. |

Thanks very much for the clarification.
I hope this means we will begin and continue to see Dome on the grid in 2015. |

I guess that is good news?
You know I always thought Dome really should've capitalized on the 2012 'success' with the S102.5 and started selling T-shirts "we lasted longer than the Toyotas" |
