Sainz totals Focus on first test day

Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya emerged unscathed after striking a moose on a test stage. The crash destroyed the front end of the Focus and bent the upper roll cage.

Glad to hear they got away okay.

Probably, considering we've been getting a whole lot of snow the last week or so here in Sweden. Normally I really hate the snow, but when it comes to the Swedish Rally, snow is an absolute must.

As for Sainz, he was doing ca 150km/h (about 95mph) when he struck the Elk, and they are lucky they were able to walk away from that one considering those animals are bad-a** when fully grown (usually few people each year are killed in collisions with Elks here in Sweden). Perhaps it wasn't a fully grown one that Sainz' hit though - haven't read any details on the size of it - but nevertheless it was good to hear that both Sainz and Moya walked away from it.
