saniz will drop 3 places on the grid for the next gp plus he needs to mind his bad boy point total as its now up to 7 with 5 left before he has to miss a race

What about that Kyvat foobar? You penalise because he took up his grid spot too slowly. I always though the rule was if you can't get away before the last car passes you, that's it you start last. Now instead he has to rush through the pack before a certain point / safety car line?
But anyway, they penalise him a drive through, costs what 15 seconds? Then the realise it should have been a 10 second time penalty so give him a second penalty? But the original drivethrough cost him more than what a 10 second time penalty on his pit stop would cost him!! They already gave him a harsher penalty than what they weren't supposed to! What is wrong with these stewards? I'm not a Kyvat fan, but this is just imcompetent decision making. Then TR come in to retire and serve the penalty then, fumbling around changing tyres pretending that it was an intended pit stop and not a retirement all along. I wouldn't be surprised if the stewards then try to add a grid penalty for the next race. |

Also really annoying the way Mercedes keep calling themselves the underdog and that they're not as fast as Ferrari.
Easy pole and 35sec ahead of Ferrari? Did anyone notice that 1m 14.5 Lewis popped in with 5 laps to go, on old super softs. Just making fun of the field really. You've got Vettel driving his butt off on ultra softs and at that point couldn't even with 0.5s of that lap time. Kimi's f.lap almost a second slower, on ultras. Yeah, you're really the underdogs Mercedes. |

given how close the title and constructors battle is, i feel that Merc have been pretty vindicated in their early season claims that Ferrari is back and/or could actually be the team to beat this year.
granted claiming 'underdog' status may have been overstating it but Merc/LH do seem to be finding some solid motivation from having supported this narrative. |

What a race. Dominant display by Lewis, but plenty going on behind
Max must be getting frustrated, he's doing well, but the results aren't there. Vettel though what a comeback, never gave up Force India's decision to let it's drivers race, it's always a tough one. Let them race for the fans or take one for the team. It's always difficult Stroll proved himself today, let's hope it's not a one off for his fans, he really looked feisty today, especially after his pitstop. Sainz rightly got a penalty for that, which is concerning, considering he also got a penalty for torpedoing Stroll in Bahrain. He needs to calm down a bit Finally well done Fred for showing true class by joining the fans after that big disappointment coming so close to a point. Honda need to get their act together or get out |

Felt for Verstappen - that first corner pass was incredible - couldn't believe it when it happened - only to be let down by a mechanical/electrical failure, which robbed us of a potentially interesting race, I think.
Wish Force India had put their foot down with Perez, and given Ocon a chance at Ricciardo........might have given him a chance to stay ahead of Vettel, too |

I don't know what the stewards were thinking though when they changed their minds on Kyvat's penalty. Madness

Is that what you do if you want to embed YouTube videos elsewhere? You probably aren't aware, but we don't have that functionality at the moment. They work better for other users if you don't manually type the YT bit as the link then just works. For example:

& Fiksed! Why can't we copy pieces of other peoples posts, even our own posts directly? It is a real bother when trying to reorganize or edit a post, or just comment on a portion of another post. |

Serve a 5 second penalty! Oops! It should have been ten! Oh! Let's start again. You will serve a 10 second penalty. At the very least it should have no more than a further 5 seconds, perhaps they all failed 'Simple Sums' at school. Disgusted of Bedfordshire. |

Reminds me of 2005 Japanese GP when Fred was asked to cede to Klien when he already had several laps before, then changing their mind too late

Herewith the quote from the steward's decision on the FIA website: "NOTE: In accordance with Article 36.2 the penalty for this offence should have been a penalty under Article 38.3d. Instead a Drive Through penalty was incorrectly imposed when the penalty should have been a 10 second stop and go. Accordingly an additional 10 second time penalty is imposed Garry Connelly Jose Abed Derek Daly Paul Cooke " |
