i didnt say factories wont be closing. Ford will still be in the car making business in Australia though. but not the same as they are now. they are still in the design part of cars

Its not something new, has always going to be this way

Same with Holden, Toyota, etc. All the car manufactures are making their Australian arms R&D plants.

Except Nissan isn't making cars here, just components - but I get your point.

Also good that Ford & Holden will both be designing and engineering here for other markets but for sure we're going to miss the manufacturing and the myriad businesses that have fed from it.

Australia has lost all our icons. If we stopped the imported garbage or limited it then Australian plants would have faired better. Thanks Australian Government, no Ford, no Holden and now no Toyota. Not to mention many others

we got vegemite back

Isnt the problem though that the australian public stopped buying there cars because we no longer wanted that style

although im sure what you mentioned was also part of the equation
