Youre clenching at straws. If Jos wanted to honor Eddie´s wish for silence, he could´ve been silent without openly cancelling negotiations. Why would you lie about it? If one asks he could easily say: ´no comment´. Besides Eddie asked for silence because Perridon was bigmouthing away. Jos and Raymond were pretty quiet all the time until the moment Jos shouted to the world he didn´t want to negotiate any further with Jordan because he didn´t feel wanted (now there is a solid base for a partnership). Secondly, Vermeulen himself commented on friday that there weren´t any following talks between Jordan and Jos since Jos broke off negotations. That would be another lie if negotations would´ve resumed nonetheless. Again. the ´no comment´-answer would have been of far better use.

Its very easy. If Jos and Eddie wanted radiosilence, they might as well have reached a press-stop. A situation in which every journo-question is replyed by saying you have no comment. Pretty much the manor in which normal people negotiate without leaking left and right to the press (no wonder Eddie was annoyed). Why would one try to hide the fact that negotiations are going on? That is never a secret and why would it be? The only thing that is of no business to the press and the public is the actual content of the negotiations, and thats what you try to keep out of the press.

And the reliable sources you name base themselves upon speculation (you are a Josfan, you should know the wod by know). No one knows what is going on. Besides, all those sources assume that B&H doesn´t have a demand for a British driver yet there are other sources (grandprix.com and f1racing.net to name but a few) that assume Jos is definatly out since B&H wants a Brit. Now all of a sudden BBC and skysports are a bigger authority in Formula 1 than grandprix.com?

A point well taken, but on the other hand: what sources do the BBC and SKY etc. use for their interpretations of the facts ? I dont think they solely rely on the Dutch f-1 sites, who are of course a bit biased on forehand. I for my part think we could be in for a pleasant surprise, as the past has shown that many "impossible" deals have been closed at the lsst moment.

love, bridget
