there's a rumour that Lapierre or Sarrazin will be moved into the No.7 - instead of Lopez I assume

Despite La Source it would be cool if it was Lapierre. Sarrazin would be cool too. Or Alonso.
What? |

Final ACO entry list - with one driver bizarrely still missing for Proton.

Stat attack! Some of this may be fake news. Hope not though.
This year's drivers consist of: 74 Platinum (41%) 31 Gold (17%) 45 Silver (25%) 30 Bronze (17%) Or 105 'Pros' (58%) and 75 'Ams' (42%), if you like. There are at least 45 LM rookies (excluding the mystery driver of the #88). That's 25% of the field. There are 8 former winners of the race in the field: Earl Bamber Timo Bernhard Romain Dumas Marcel Fassler Neel Jani Jan Lammers Andre Lotterer Nick Tandy By my count (which may well be wrong) there are a further 29 former class winners, which I won't list. The most experienced crew is in the #64 Corvette with 35 starts across the 3 drivers. The next most experienced is the #63 Corvette, with 32 starts. All 6 Corvette drivers have a class or overall win at LM. There are two cars with rookie crews: #21 Dragonspeed (Hanley, Rosenqvist, Hedman) #88 Proton (Yelloly, Lemeret, TBC) The most experienced driver is Jan Lammers with 23 starts, closely followed by Emmanuel Collard on 22 and Olivier Beretta on 20. The average number of starts across the whole field is 3.8. The median number of starts is 2. |

So with Bourdais now out due to his Indy 500 Qual crash today, who does Ford get to replace him?

That will be rather problematic though. They'll need to fly him to France urgently to do the simulator course, and then some more arm-twisting will be needed to give him the same waiver as Scott Dixon last year to skip Test Day and do his rookie laps in Wednesday practice (since, again, there are two Indycar races in Detroit on the same weekend as the Test Day).

Could have been a lot worse still. I'll probably repeat this everywhere for the next few days, but Indycar, IMS and Dallara have done a stunning job to make sure that the drivers are still with us even after monster accidents like that.

Not too long ago, that type of crash would have been (and was) fatal. That Bourdais was still conscious and moving before the car had even stopped is a testament to the massive progress made by all concerned when it comes to driver protection.
