Whilton Mill Oct 30th

Strong sunshine, not a cloud in the sky, 9 practices, 28 races and a 4-15 finish, now I remember why I like Karting so much. I'd forgotten just how near the ground the little blighters are though, got a sore back this morning!

Glad you enjoyed the day, you must have missed the rain we had towards the end of the Birkett, still it kept it entertaining at Farm Outside.

It clouded over, but within 10 minutes it was sunny again. No rain.

It always surprises me how few Orange Folk turn up at Kart events.

You usually find yourself watching the stars of the future. It's not difficult to spot the pre-pubescent youngsters that are going places. There are often full grids and non-stop action through the day. You stand close to the track and the racecraft is visible all round the circuit. And these guys and gals race very close together.

Organisers tend to treat you better than other "big track" stuff and in my experience always pleased to see you. Plenty of tracks scattered around the country to have a go. And they run through the winter which for a flaggie is brilliant for "keeping your eye in".

Well worth a try.
