450000$ should be enough to buy a new GT3/GTD chassis or a 2012-2013 second hand 458 GT. In my opinion is more collectors oriented, because who would buy 2 cars that unlikely will be competitive next year?

My guy swears no track change. Only date change. He said city planning could be discussing a venue change for the new contract negotiation but the next two years will be held on the current layout.

Split races were inevitable and glad the GTs get to headline an event, especially a huge market like California. Chevrolet, SRT, BMW, Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari are all gonna get some good TV time.
A shame SRT and Corvette don't get to go to their home track though. |

Playing devil's advocate, I think the DP's & LMPC deserve to run at Detroit more than Corvette....
Corvette's home track is really Long Beach, given Pratt & Miller's location. |

Turner would have to find two hot shoes/guys with cash to run in GT-D consistently with Auberlin at RLL and Dalla Lana looking at Astons for NAEC events. Running in GT-D would help them with the Pro-Am requirement though.
How many teams in GA will need a new driver with the rule? At least AIM, Stevenson if they were staying, but any others? |

Wondering aloud, is it possible that a few Pirelli World Challenge teams could run in GTD for the Long Beach race given it's a GT-only event? I wouldn't mind seeing a few Cadillacs or a few GMG Audi R8s!
GT-only is good news for Long Beach. Also good news is that they even managed to get a spot on the calendar. Shame about Detroit - a prototype-only race isn't quite as exciting as a GT-only. I think they could push the envelope as far as space goes at Belle Isle, personally, especially with the longer, wider layout. And I think I'll take one final stab at the schedule before the announcements: 1. Rolex 24 at Daytona (January) 2. 12 Hours of Sebring (March) 3. Long Beach (April, GT only) 4. Laguna Seca (May) 5. Sahlen's 6 Hours of The Glen (June) 6. Mosport (July) 7. Indy (July) 8. Road America (August) 9. Kansas (August) 10. Detroit (Labor day rumors... September, prototype only) 11. COTA (September, probably w/ WEC) 12. Petit Le Mans (October) |

Caddy isn't going to put an Am driver in their cars. Plus, that car isn't homologated to the new series.

I suppose this isn't much of a surprise, but DSC are saying that we'll perhaps see Ford-powered P2 machinery in USCR.
