karimbo has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Nico Rosberg to Williams in 2006?

Would Nico win the GP2 championship, could he join Button at Williams ?

In 2006:

Williams: Rosberg-Button
BAR: Sato-Barrichello
Renault: Alonso-Weber
Sauber-BMW: Heidfeld-Fisichella

If Nico wins the title (that's a big IF) , with his capabilities andwith the "friends" he and his father have all over F1, he will certainly not be sitting on the pits...

Oh mine karimbo a big ? into your wish entry list.

About Rosberg in WilliamsF1 Team, I think it won't be Williams but BMW F1 Team, and, now it's a question mark... #2 driver, or #3 driver?

The most likely role for the German Nico Rosberg is either BMW 2nd or 3rd driver, or Williams 3rd driver.

Yep, don't forget that although the old man is a Finn, Nico was born in Germany.

Doesn't Williams have too many drivers for next year as it is?

Indeed, Nico doesn't actually speak a word of Finnish. But his best chance of a race drive next year is probably BMW, and it increases further if he can snatch the GP2 title. He looks to be a good talent.

I think he has dual citizenship. He has sometimes used the finnish flag but these days he drives under german flag.

With Heidfeld out and nico almost GP2 champion, chances are that he will be in Shanghai and Suzuka...

I've heard rumours about that too - that it wouldn't be such a bad idea for Williams to dump Pizzonia to see how Rosberg Jnr fares... With the option of giving him a full-time drive for '06 if things really don't turn out 'well' in terms of holding onto Button or Heidfeld.

Speculation is fun

It would be nice to see a fresh face who didn't have to buy his seat. Formula 1 was in danger of 'dumbing down' because of this. I blame the dotcom crash myself

I don't see any drivers in Formula One this year who are pure "ride buyers" - the level of merit among this year's field is high.

And certainly higher than in what some would say were the glory days.

No dumbing down here.

I was under the impression that at least both Jordan and both Minardi drivers were bringing money to the teams. Not sure where I got the idea from though. I have to admit that Monteiro has exceeded all my expectations though.

He may well be well backed by Tata, but he's still a talented driver, who won races in F3 and Nissan World Series.

Wouldn't it be better to hire a driver who, say, beat Nico Rosberg in, say, F3? Like, say, Robbie "Not Related To A Famous Driver So I Cannot Get A GP2 Drive Whereas Mathias 'Slower Than Yoong' Lauda Can" Kerr? Or maybe Jamie "I'm Not Related To A Famous Driver Either, So I'm Stuck In German Tintops But If I Changed My Name To Piquet I'd Have Teams Orgasming Over Me" Green?

And Bernie is now pushing Williams to forget about Button and to go for Nico Rosberg...

I actually had a dream/nightmare sleeping on my desk at work: Williams giving up Button to BAR for a lot of money, Williams giving up Heidfeld and Nico Rosberg to BMW in exchange for a lot of money and JV (the bone inducing JV to accept that being an extension of his contract up to 2007 inclusive). As a JV fan, this would be far from good as I have little faith in Williams' chassis (until they find a competent aerodyanmist), the future V8 Cosworh and Bridgestone rubber. However, this would mean for 2006:

BAR: RB/JB
BMW: NH/Nico Rosberg
Williams: MW/JV

This is obviously pure speculation (actually "hallucination" would be more accurate here) on my part.

Rubens and Jenson at BAR, Heidfeld and JV and BMW, and Webber and Rosberg at Williams seems quite possible. Then again, Williams have reportedly refused a $12m offer to release Jenson, and I doubt they'd accept twice that - so much of their commercial funding for 2006 is based on having Jenson, and I don't think there's anyone else available who's as good as yet.

You are joking K_B? Kartikeyan? Monteiro? Just about anybody who gets in a Minardi? And just when would some say were the glory days?

Name me a year where even 16 drivers have been on the grid due purely to talent? Even then, I'm not sure Montiero, Albers or Doornbos have brought much funding - and all 3 have certainly brought talent.

Well, we'll know when they're dropped because they've run out of money - or 'talent'!

Rosberg would do very well at Williams IMO, ive watched him racing throughout the season in GP2 this year and he seems to have all the qualities to make a top F1 driver one day. IMO.
