Dindo would be a better sub for Allan because he has driven the R10 at Lime Rock.

I can understand McNish wanting to savour his LM victory by attending Goodwood, but its a shame as he has been an absolute star at Lime Rock in recent years - especially in the last race for the R8 (2006?)

Looks like Capello will be the replacement...Capello/Pirro and Luhr/Werner.

The entry list on PLM shows that the BK Mazda is on Kumho tires; is that a typo or did they switch back form the Yokos???

As we can now see, I was correct, and I would expect my reasoning was not far from the actual reasoning used. |

Now that I look back at my post I must admit its pretty embarassing. I should have just made an excuse like "Oh, I thought you meant Alan Jones"

I'm just kidding with ya anyway, it was obvious you misread it!
Would be nice to see McNish/Capello by year's end. Anyone know why McNish would have to be absent for Mid-Ohio as well as LRP, or are we just looking at Audi deciding to stick with Dindo? |

That transatlantic flight is a real bummer , that would put me off swapping between championships , but I suppose if the rate is good , it counts for a lot too , and first class is a big differance .
I suppose I might get used to that flight if I was getting goodies like Dindo !!! ..... lol ..... Brilliant driver . |

Does anyone in here go to the race? I might happen to be in the area and was thinking of going. I wanted to check though from reading the website do you have to pack up camp and be out by 1 hour after the race? I find it weird you cant stay the night and head out in the morning.

I won't be making it this year, but have in the past many times. I am fairly certain that you need to be out. Part of the Draconian Skip Barber regime... You might be able to stay if you ponied up your $100,000 to join the "Club at Lime Rock" ;-)

I'll be heading up with a few guys and gals from the NYC S2000 owners club.
As far as camping goes you do indeed have to be packed up and on your way out by 7pm race day. |

I'll be there Friday and Saturday wearing a purple Colgate hat. Monaro - I highly recommend going. It's a beautiful place to watch a race (wow, that rhymes)

Wow, I can't imagine 10-12 years without Lime Rock for a CT resident. Glad you're going back. It would be interesting to see how much has changed from your perspective, especially with all the work being done this year.

I think I will. I have to be in Philly for work that following week so I think I will fly up Thursday. Get a rental and drive to Lime Rock from Philly (I think its about 4 hours). Probably rent a SUV so I dont have to worry about bringing my tent.
Whats the weather like up there at night? |

It's colder than the rest of the state since its up in the Berkshire foothills, maybe in the 50's at night when daytime highs are in the 80's

http://www.racingsportscars.com/phot...-27-photo.html It was that race. I vividly remember the teal/black Riley & Scott, and I also remember that Camaro on the list, as it had crashed right in front of us. Spun backwards down the front stretch, clipped the wall on the outside, and iirc, had a very tiny fire. It was white, with black numbers. |

I think I went to the 1994 or 1995 IMSA race when I was 11 or 12. I specifically remember the 333SP's and thought they were the coolest cars I've ever seen. Can't wait for next Friday!

We went last year and heading back again a week from Friday. We don't camp so can't provide any info but this year found a hotel closer to LMP instead of driving from the Sheraton at the airport. Beautiful countryside and yes, it does take about 1.5 hours to make the drive from the airport in Hartford even though it's only 45 or so miles. Looking forward to it. . a nice break for us from almost 100 F temps here in Texas.
