eamonn ledwidge should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Thanks for that John, I'm very happy with my real later 9S and very few early ones about. However, the big 7S currently for sale seems very tempting and I might start the list off with a couple of FIA MGBs - there just seems to be a lot of them!!!!

Brilliant idea for a thread, though I'm sure I'll struggle to stick to the limit.

I could start with a Mercedes-Benz W125, but I suspect that would blow my limit, so:

BRM V16
Aston Martin DBR1
Ferrari P4
Porsche 917 (preferably a 1970 or '71 Long Tail)
Lotus 72
Ferrari 312T3
Lancia Delta S4
Jaguar XJR-14
Williams FW14B

I suspect my budget is already being stretched and I'd need some money to run them. With all of the above I'd find a suitable driver to put in them. Maybe I'd get something sensible, like an MGB to do some racing myself.

Nice thread...

Bugatti, T35.
Auto Union. Have to be a V16 though.
1.5 litre BRM.
Ditto Lotus 25.
Lotus 79.
Porker 935 K3.
AMR1 Or Nimrod Aston.
DBR9.
Cologne Capri.
250GT SWB, or a 275 Scallietti.
Or a DB4GT.

Hmmm. What budget, again???

You can have the reg,I wouldn't mind the front shockers off of it. Double valved, bump and re-bound=Hens Dentures.

I'm sure you're there, in SOMETHING!
Be it Dinars, Shekels, or HK$?

At least you share your money with us mere mortals... Racing all that money. Love it.

If I was being sensible :

Sports: Chaparral 2F
Tin top: 65 Mustang coupe (how original)
GP: Talbot Lago T26
GT: Bizzarini 5300 Corsa
Road car: Maser A4GCS Berlinetta by Pinin Farina

The budget is 15 million pounds .Away you go.Less forty quid for the Ace Cafe on 30th December.
Last list is different .How much to extract the Chaparral from Midland Texas.Big hole in budget. How about 150S Lago instead of T26.Mustang Ford France(Walton's got a good one so that should not be expensive)

Oh dear, big hole in the budget then....the Chapparral is a 'how much will it take to buy it' situation. The A4 would be similar.

Ok in that case, complete change of plan:

Lola T70
Mustang
Maser 250F (lacking imagination I know, but plenty of racing to be had)
Bizza Strada
FN LeMans Rep
Porsche 906

That should do it, might be a bit under...?

They don't come out much though, do they? And most that do seem to be Cameron Millar builds.

Competition Cars-
I'll start with a Costin bodied Lister
For Pre 63 Morgan Plus 4 Supersports
Got to have a Lotus- so a 23B or maybe the 30 CTL have
275GTB Compezione- hopefully spelt right
Cobra
Lola T70 MK3b
Lola T290, Alfa, Osella or similar 2 litre open sportsracer
Cologne Capri with spare GAA (How much for that )
Capri RS2600 (Classic Le Mans eligible)
Sierra Cosworth RS500 GpA (There will be race for them sometime!)
Ex works Mk1 Escort rally car
A Gp B car- probably factory 205T16

Road cars? Pre War Aston for starters. A Gordon Keeble, early Pantera, Triumph 2.5pi or Cortina Savage Estate. Peanuts I know, and need also to complete my set of Ford AVO cars with a Twink and Mexico. Then would spend time and money building a collection of as many road going 'Homologation Specials' as I could. Starting with Mk1 Louts Cortina, unless anyone can suggest an earlier car that was produced for same purpose? Maybe need two of each- one standard and one as used in competition.

Plus of course somewhere to keep them all, a big rig to haul them about, and a second base in warmer climate....
