Interesting that the car has tested at Fuji already and is running Bridgestone tires. I really think they will either race this car or produce road versions of it, maybe (hopefully) both?

The Carbon fiber prototype is just a WEC car in different body.
even the steering is exact one from WEC. I wonder how much of THIS goes into actual car in the end... |

Latest Autosport magazine reports that Toyota GR Super Sports Concept might be a base model of future Le Mans car.

As far as I am aware, to make this car reliable enough to be sold to consumer. Toyota will need to remake the whole engine, Hybrid system( Motor and battery), regulation with Japanese vehicle law etc. another word, nothing will stay in the car...lol But I have no doubt that once the car is out, it will be worthy to take it on track! |

@Japanese Samurai, is the as-books article just those preview pages? It seems like it's numbered at the bottom so just a two-page article. Anything new? |

With the TS050 livery applied on it, the car looks strikingly similar to something out of Ridge Racer...

Thanks. I was hoping for some more information on the car. I haven't seen an interview yet about it, maybe it will have a future and then we can see if it races or is the basis for the lmp1.

Toyota has completed a successful first test with the latest version of the TS050 HYBRID.
They were testing for three days at the Aragon circuit in Spain last week with Sebastien Buemi and Mike Conway driving. https://www.autosport.com/wec/news/1...th-updated-car |

Feel for Davidson, he’s been a quick driver and great ambassador for Toyota. Excite for Alonso. May two cursed entities cancel each other out?

Will be understandably gutted to be given the push Davidson, had a few good chances of winning Le Mans with Peugeot & Toyota, the place has ceartinly been cruel to him (2012, 2016) spring to mind, just not meant to be

Well I thought they'd run a 3rd car for Alonso at Le Mans...Porsche made it work for them with another F1 WEC rookie.
Perhaps Davidson should have joined Porsche when they offered him a full time seat instead of being so loyal! What disappoints me is that Ant' has been their most winning driver, and he didn't make any mistakes or even rub against another car all season in 2017. |

I think it reflects very poorly on Toyota to relegate Davidson. They owe him more loyalty than that.

Also you'd think TMG would throw everything like 3 cars at Le Mans this year... probably their last chance to win the thing!...What you need to win Le Mans is a careful, consistent driver who doesn't damage the car!...Oh well I won't be bothering to stay up all night watching and biting my finger nails off for the first time in 9 years!
Thanks Ant' you're still my Karting teams multiple champion, even if others along the long road didn't realise what they had...It's their loss! Last edited by Rennen; 30 Jan 2018 at 12:53. |

You break your back, then you win title and toyota drops you to give some room to a primadonna. Gratitude doesn't belong to this world
