AR-CoolC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Newbie saying hello

Hi all I've just joined up today and have already spent the most of this morning reading through old threads.

I'm Ali and Live in Lincoln, so my nearest tracks are Cadwell, Donninton and Mallory.

I've been in contact with Alan Tyson of the BRSCC and he is arranging a "come and see if you like it" day at Mallory next month (16th) for me. Really looking forward to it. So all being well (can't see why i won't like it) I'll become an orange trainee for next season

Right...off to read a few more "how I started" threads.

Cheers
Ali

Hi Ali and welcome to Ten Tenths. Also to marshalling and perhaps you will post here and let us know how you get on at Mallory.

Regards

Hi Ali.
Welcome to 10 tenths.
I only joined this week as well.
So I'm still trying to read all the other threads as well. Should be there by christmas.
Hopefully our paths will cross as Mallory & Donington are my local tracks as well.
Good luck & speak soon

If you don't, you have no soul! Couldn't pick a better place to start.

Sounds good, as I've never actually been to Mallory before.

Lost my orange virginity

To all at Mallory yesterday (16th) a big big thank you for making a new boy feel very welcome.

Special thanks to Fay and Alan for looking after me on post 12 and the startline, plus the other chap with the very croaky voice (sorry forgotten your name )

My first time out and I got to wave some flags, dig an E-Type out the gravel, and nearly get run over by the safety car on each grid assembly

All being well I'll be at Mallory again on the 14th of October

The guy with the croaky voice (I have a paralysed vocal cord so nothing catching) was me. The other guy on Startline was actually Steve.

Glad you enjoyed your first day see you again on 14th October.

Welcome to Ten-Tenths and the banks Alan. You are also welcome over here to marshal on the other side of the big pond. Marshalling races is a great excuse to travel to new places!

Glad you enjoyed yourself Ali. I didn't know you were on the startline I would have waved from the end of pit lane.
But then again I was enjoying myself with 3 good looking ladies .
Had a good day, learnt loads of new things & had it explained excatly what happened at Anglesey (thanks Karen).
Ali did you enjoy the mobile sauna that masquraded as a little Fiat(i think)? Had a chat with the driver before that race & he told me he'd fixed the first problem that they had in the morning. Really nice bloke & I felt a bit sorry for him. But I'm sure he'll fight another day.
Excellent meeting.Well run & very friendly.
My thanks to Alan & Fay for placing me with 3 very helpful & understanding ladies.
Hopefully I'll get to meet you next time.

Hi Col

Yeah, sorry, I forgot you were there as another newbie, I suppose there is just so much going on that you get lost in it all.

The little Fiat sauna was making us smile, but the brute of a Camaro and the Mk1 Escorts really caught my eye.

Are you planning on being there for the 750MC event on the 14th of October? if so I'll come and join you for a bacon buttie in the diner.
