Hi Chris. Black Brick 1 was under my fathers ownership from 86 to 2005. Dad bought the car from Sam Hill as a rolling chassis, it had been used on the Hills and had a lighter weight body (cycle wings for instance instead of the long swept front wings), no roof and had a 2.0 BDG. The car, in BRS colours, was very succesful. Dad did a few seasons in the Castle Combe GT series, but never really got to grips with it and the game had moved on with the arrival of Skodas, Metros etc.. The car was quite badly damaged at Quarry, and then shipped off to Geoff Rumble of Dastle (the original builder) for a complete rebuild back to its original spec. The car had an 1800cc Twin Cam as per when Rob campainged it in 1980, and was back in new original condition, albeit less roof. The car was sold 6 or so years ago to a chap called Ted Williams, who I dont think has used it since. It was a great car in its day and I dare say would go well in the Modsports revival. I dont know where it is now. Cheers, Jon Edwards.

Is that the Ted Williams of Bristol fame who used to pedal a Lola Can-Am car and various other historics?

Is he still around?

Black Brick1 is now in the hands of a German friend who is restoring her for the modsports revival series. He is trying to trace 3 of the previous owners for information about the car:
1.) Mike Gidden (1981 motorsport season/ Lydden Saloon Championship),
2.) Mike Yarney IMPORTANT! STP Modsports 1982 + 1983),
3.) Sam Hill (together with Nick Carr - hillclimbing Championship in 1985 + 1986)

Any info / pointers on how to get hold of Mike, Mike or Sam would be greatly apreciated.

Jon.

Mike Yarney used to be (still is???) a car dealer in Kent (Folkestone area maybe????!!!). A regular spectator 5/10 years ago at Brands Hatch and Lydden Hill. Haven't seen him lately though!!Sorry don't know any more than that. Good luck.
