Fast James should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ross Browning

Just thought all the old Rallycross fans should know that sadly Ross Browning passed away on the 22 of June. His funeral was held in Brenchley today. If anybody has any photos of his old escort it would be really nice to see some.

I have a couple but for the life of me I cannot work out how to post them!

Also have some real gems from a recent clear out of Terry Briggs workshop.

Cheers

James

Very sad news. Did see this on Facebook. One of the best Mk 2 drivers. Love to see the Terry Briggs garage clear out. Had some very obscure cars, Renault Alpine comes to mind.

Ross was one of the few guys to ever get on terms with Roger Newbould.

His Escort was damned quick and he was as tough as they coem when the Formula had a lot of very quick cars.

As for Terry Brigg,s that is a workship full of gems no doubt, always loved his Mazda 323 for some reason!

I have a few pics of Ross escort and a couple of ones from Terrys garage of the alpine in a red and white livery and a race number that I never new it existed in, I only remember it in white with red blue and yellow stripes and his 333 race number.
I can probably borrow the rest of the pics that we found in the garage and scan them but I cannot work out how to upload them onto this blog. Does anybody know if you have to subscribe in order to be able to post pictures on replies etc?

Yep that's right, he brought Mick Quaifes old escort for a brief comeback, then it sat down his farm for years. Mick then brought the engine (back) off of him in the early 00's I think as it was a BDT and he wanted it his silver RS200. Terry (Briggs) then brought the rest of the car from him not too long before his sad passing in 2009. He sold the car to Bill Harbour, no idea if he still has it but I will try and find out.
I also have the reg doc and the original steering wheel out of Terrys 6r4.

I bump in to Bill now and again if I do before you do i'll ask him about the Escort. I do recall chatting to him a year ago and he mentioned he'd got a Mk2 to go rallying in perhaps the same car?
