Sorry to interrupt a flow but..
I noticed a few pages back (this is a popular (emotive) post) that someone was offering assistance and might be welcome...can I do the same? I'm on the way back from Switzerland in a camper with enough tools to take most things apart (normally a Form Ford) and my wife and I are willing to muck in with someone who could do with a hand. If the camper is of use and can be got close enough there's a couple of berths free and some racing pasta could be made available. email jane.dikkoATvirgin.net |

regarding the cut off date, I heard that it was moved forward a couple of years some years ago when BMW became one of the sponsors. As they actually wanted some cars in the race & moving the date allowed the M1`s in.
Is the cut off rolling forward ? As far as I recall it has not done so yet . Alex |

It's looking very tasty this time around, John.
I assume you have the British SAAB booked already? Sadly, I cannot help with G6, no contacts there. |

Either I'm doing something wrong, or it is on the area restricted to registered competitors. I am accessing www.lemansclassic.com/Competition/Entry list and keep getting list no. 3.

The French registered TRs are not the ones I'm looking out for, but with the ones already included, their chances look limited.

Am I supposed to be finding a home for a Spitfire in a Team.
Organisers now asking for Teams with todays publised regs and think I have found a home for everyone on here .Mark in the Index Team,Eddy and Charlie in Gentlemens,Roger in the quick,BMW in Index and where is that TVR?Short in G6 but hope to solve that situation with the Scottish mafia. |

My TVR didn't make the cut - no dear john yet but with the French one, the Elstrop one and the Hooper one we aren't going to make it now. Thanks for supporting a 10/10th effort. We'll try again in 2012. Cheers Dave |

On average, how many cars usually drop out of before and during the event in each grid?

The only reason I ask is that my father has just been told that he is on the reserve list for grid 4, and without wishing bad luck on those who are already confirmed, just curious to see if anyone who regularly competes there knew the likely hood of the reserves getting in.
I realise now that my original questions is impossible to answer - *not to self* - read thing statements before posting them... |

About eight extra in each grid to go as rule of thumb.
If you are in top four of reserve list you will probably make it. |

2008 in grid 4 Mr Trabers Etype blew up and there was a LM type Ferrari trashed both of them in 1st daylight practice. During the same practice session at one point the entire Mulsanne was yellow flagged due to the number of stranded vehicles. Reserve #4 must have a bloody good chance of a start.

TVRs at LMC
Just out of interest, does anyone know if the TVRs that get into LMC run to the same spec as the one that competed in 1962 (i.e. MGA 1600 engine)? I would have thought the eligibility list would be quite specific on engine size.

I'm sure there are cars prepared 'new' for the event which may not have been fully proven beforehand, and we are talking about old tempermental beasts, AND LaSarthe is as likely as anywhere to test the mettle of any car/engine, so like all premium events theres bound to be 'activity' off track other than the popping of corks! R4 seems like a reasonbable vantage point for a start

You should be able to make contact with Alistair Pugh via Jigsaw Racing, the 'LeMans' Spitfire belongs to Mark and Jo Field, try mark@jigsawracingservices.co.uk
