Goodwood?

Does anyone know when the yes/no is given out for the Festival of Speed this year. I'm expecting a NO with a big long echo after, but i don't want to spend £howevermuch on a ticket only to get accepted.

Oh, and well done to the HSCC for being the only club this year to send me anything about the event.

Why are you expecting a no?! With the current state of marshalling I would have thought they'd say yes to everyone?!

Expecting a no because it seems the kind of event that everyone and their dog would volunteer for, and not needing all that many marshals either.

Two things...

1. Try ringing Karen Coddington at BARC and ask if you are on the list. she should be able to tell you.

2. I'm afraid that all high profile events (with the possible exception of the GP recently) tend to be over subscribed for marshals. The CART meeting is a case in point.

Got My Tickets..............

My tickets for the Festival of Speed arrived this morning....
In years previous we used to get 2 tickets per day...
Now I have one ticket and a plastic ID card...
Is this ID card my "ticket"????
And can I use the other printed entry ticket for the wife??
I would appreciate any information I can get as we dont want to take the family only to be told we have to pay entry fees when we arrive.....

The ID card gets you access to the circuit and the ticket is for your wife. See you there, my red trainers will be freshley polished for the occasion!

I supppose that how they managed to have a rota system going on at the cart meeting...i was wondering why there were so many marshals wandering round all the time!

You are right. Add to that the circuit was 'live' for the whole day and so they had extra marshals so that we could get a break now and then.

Ours came today as well. Harry can't wait!!

Anything I should know about Post 7? As it will be my last attendance on-the-bank for the foreseeable future I'd like to get it right. Cheers.

The list says i'm yet to be allocated a post.

Does anyone else not understand that page about the opening and closing course cars?

It is a little confusing granted............
All will become clear when we are briefed and as the first day progresses....
Once you have been through the procedure a couple of times it will become second nature......Especially if you have good people above you who will notify you when the cars are getting near by way of their whistle....

Yes, it gets a bit confusing when they say that the course open car effectively closes the hill, but opens the crossings. Then the convoy car has to apparently plough through the hoards of people crossing the track, and go head on into the course close car.
I think i'll read it again today.
