Chezza.

Have just been looking at the entry lists for 6 October. Steve King and Paul Simmons (mini's) seem to be in the Tin Tops. I think they should be with the DMN race as we are all entering to try and promote the creation of a 1400 class?

I was told the minis were going in the sports and saloons with the 1400 class...I will investigate.

O/T but not worth a new thread, as it's a SE question - does anyone know someone in the Essex area who could identify what's inside my Vauxhall gearbox ie diff type, gear kit etc.

Breaking the Astra for parts.

Something new for next year

You may want to try posting this in Racing Tech, you should get a wider audience there.

Or I'll get a lot of "I know a bloke near Cardiff who'll know" replies. Most of the posters local to me are DMN guys. I think I know what it is, which is what I was told it was, I just need it confirmed as I'm a technical numpty.

The 1400 mini class will run with the sports and saloons for the rest of this seaon, however if it proves successful we will add it as a class to the championship for the 2008 season.

As DMN is a championship we can't just add another class half way through the season.

Correct. The DMN is a championship so the classes are set by the permit. With the sports/saloons currently being a series there is scope to add additional classes (such as the Tigers), which is what we have done with the "up to 1400cc Minis". The tin tops have been combined with the sports/saloons on this occasion, so it should make for some interesting racing.

If its the gearbox that was in the Astra when you bought it from me, I can let you know all the info you need.
Please feel free to send me a PM.

Finals have gone in the post this morning so should be dropping through the door in the next couple of days.

Ken, you will appear on the DMN list, but I will put you over to the sports and saloons.

It was always listed as standing starts. If you prefer rolling starts (for next year) it will be discussed on November 3rd at Brands, or you can tell a committee member beforehand.

Personally prefer standing starts but think the split this year of 5 standing 5 rolling is the fairest compromise.

Ive got no problem with standing starts.
The only problem i and a few others near the back last time encountered was that the red lights come on before some of us were even in place.
Is there chance of a waived green at the rear of the grid when all cars are in place like touring cars do?

If they follow the MSA regs to the letter, then there should be, and 3 minutes is 3 minutes. Not 30 seconds, and we know how boring that is! (having to wait soooo long to get going!)

Perhaps they should go back to Union flag starts?

Rob.

I see that there's an all comers' race at the end of the day. (at the top of the entry list on Rods site).....What's the criteria to compete in this? (licence, car spec etc)???????????? Anybody know?????????? Is there a timetable yet?
