Rod Birley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Last year's champ (Jason Watkins) was the other driver involved in the five car scrap but he faded with deteriorating tyres!! due to a handling problem

Well the stropy one refused to go and we ended up doing nothing all day, which is what I didn't want to do.

Sounds like we missed some fantastic racing, which is slightly annoying. Well done to eveyone!

Right going off to wake him up and give him a slap...!

yes great meeting, i had a great birds eye view whating les beer sliding his fiesta around every which way, obiviously writing the last one off didn't tame his driving, i must have twice the power of the fiesta but couldn't do anything about it, particulary when i lost 3rd gear, which i needed for about 90% of the lap in my car

its funny how things change, i used to look forward to going to the small circuits as i could harass the bigger more powerfull turbo cars, i'm now looking forward to going to the bigger circuits so i can make the most of my turbo!

Excellent racing yesterday guys, Richard & Bill kicked my backside pretty hard and i'm looking forward to some good battles now that i'm back, (as long as it's kept clean!).
My tyres actually peaked at lap 4 in race two which is pretty poor really, (the new data logger came in handy!). With a softer front end I should get back on the pace for Croix and I can't wait.
Well done again to both Richard and Bill.

Jason.

was it just me, but the circuit seemed to be exceptionally dirty, virtually the whole way round it seemed that i was hitting stuff thrown up from the cars in front, or maybe it was bits and gravel falling off mr beers fiesta, my bonnet looks like its been shot with a twelve bore.
still great day what ever

It seemed pretty dirty to me- or was I driving through the gravel trap ?
Two things gents ( and ladies )
1. For those wanting to take a look at any pictures of saturday, try http://
www.adrenalinphotography.com/adrengal/album06 apologies if there seems a lot of my car on there, but I brought them down ( there were 48 pics on when I checked, but there should be more on by now ) If you like any of the pics, send them an email, and they may come to croix and snap a few !
2.To the Borough 19 chairman (Jason) - I know Mr Wickens has been there before, and with Mine and Les Beers detours on saturday, could we hold the Borough 19 club nights in the Gravel Trap at the Elbow ?

Rod , the best view I had of your windscreen was in my rear view mirror but I could not make it bloody stay there!! instead I had to keep looking at your rear end and I don't know if its your age but it seemed to need a bit of firming up!!pete

Cheers Pete, it's called middle age spread! Results (from the A&C races) plus full report and points list are on my website (thanks Shawn). It was difficult to get results sheet due to a photo copier problem ,but they will be posted to the drivers.
Next Lydden visit is indeed August 6th, along with the classic "package" (Group one, post historic, classic F.Fords, Austin Healey's, classic thunder, Toyo saloons) could be up to 14 races, busy day. Then after that it will be the "festival" on Sept 10th, where there will be MX5 Mazdas, MGs, Camso V8s, Hot Rods, Stock Rods, Super Saloons, Super Rods and whatever else we can squeeze onto the oval, probably 28 races!!!

Expect to see some more cars on August 6th in T&R, at least two Ford Focus in class A, plus a certain V8 Vauxhall (racing 59), a Sierra in class B, a yellow Peugeot in class C along with a VW Polo, at least another Mini and a Fiesta in class D.

What was tyre wear like for everyone at Lydden?
Mine were so bad that I had the canvas showing in most places. By the time I got home in the evening, one of them was flat. (I started the day on brand new slicks).
I know my suspension needs sorting but did anyone else suffer from a particularly high wear rate? (I'm using the same tyres as last year).

Cheers,

Jason.

I only did one and a bit races, but looking at the wear dimples, there seems to have been more wear than the Brands and Silverstone rounds combined.

While I'm here

1. the web site i gave for Lydden photo's - there are now 108 piccies on there, so if you weren't up there before , take another look
www.adrenalinphotography.com
2.The Astra has new suspension bits on, and is driving in an out the garage and up and down the drive - Wing is away with the bodywork man. getting the geometry checked to make sure all is well, and will see you all at Croix
will live with a few odd scratches down the side till the end of the season-
seems like I was a lucky boy !

Anyone need a mechanic for Croix. Engine went pop on the Dyno again today, so I think I will give this season a miss. as my Digs are already booked for france, I am still going, hence the offer

Judging by how busy Graham Bahr was at Silverstone, I think you will have plenty of offers. Many hands make light work as they say..

i didn't suffer from tyre wear, which is almost suprising, with a car weighing 950kg and the boost cranked up trying to get the better of les beer amoungst other things.

i wonder if the seemingly incredably dirty track had an effect
