I'm still a bit confused as to what was supposedly illegal on the Minis last season?

The boot floors were legal to the wording of the regs though weren't they? (hence the wording being changed for this year?)

So were the inner wings. If they were illegal I would have thought that the series scrutineer whould have pulled them up.

the rules stated no modifications to the unitary construction but did allow minor modifications to boot floor to accommodate a fuel cell, they went on to specifically state "minor modifications" did not allow the removal of entire boot floor.
replacing an entire boot floor with alloy or composite clearly falls foul of the above as judged by most people and more importantantly the scruitieers. whats gone before has gone, its time to move on |

Ah right so it was the "minor modification" subjective bit they fell foul of then? Because techincally having a carbon floor is a "replacement" not a "removal" so it was ok on that side of things.
Still, as you say - on with the racing |

Our boot floors were only removed enough to fit a carbon moulding to fit a square flat bottom fuel tank. The metal floor that covers the rear subframe was still insitue,
And as for being told by an other its a saftey issue cant be true, our cars are built to a high spec so as they can compete in the mini miglia championship. Yep on with the racing. |

The rule states that "FOR THE PURPOSE OF MOUNTING oil and fuel tanks and pumps the boot floor in-between the vehicle chassis rails and rearward of the rear axle line may be modified". So if the fuel pump (and most arn't) and the the fuel tank is not mounted on or supported by the boot floor then surely composite boot floors can
be used. Just exploring any loop holes. |

I have finally booked mine in to try and get rid of the mystery misfire, so hopefully all sorted for SEMSEC up to 1400cc class on April 10. Anyone else doing it? |
