The Round 6 meeting would have to be a big one, wouldn't it mate? The last time the NSWRRC goes to Oran Park?

I'd say it will be a sad day. We (Production Sports) have a 1 hour enduro on that day. Wonder if they will allow donuts after the race?

There was lots of farewell dropping of the clutch at the last Amaroo meeting and I dont seem to recall anyone getting in trouble for it

Is this confirmed? I thought there were no dates for the 2009 1hrs as yet.

What about the Nationals round at the end of August at Oran Park. That's the only reason I'm going!!!!

Shannon's pulled away from Supertruck series at the end of last year. They are stand alone category in 2009. Trucks will be the main event with support races to be held.

Think you will find that should read the other way round. Trucks have moved away from the Shannons Nationals to headline their own show.

Correct, Trucks chose to go it alone. Hopefully all the kerfuffle after Mallala has been settled.

The calender I recieved had the trucks running at the following.

4th -5th April ORAN PARK
15th - 16th August WINTON
31st Oct - 1st November MALLALA

Does this meen the Mallala round has been replaced by Barbagallo?

Not replaced , just not run.

There was going to be 5 races this year, but sponsorship & funding cut it back.
Was going to be Oran Park > Queensland Raceway > Winton > Barbagallo > Mallala. So QR & Mallala cut.

A few of the drivers will be over my place to record a podcast this week coming for another website. You will be able to find out more then.

Any further developments? as the info I keep getting says that the Mallala round is still on. I ask because I am looking at running in one of the proposed support catorgories.

Judging by the numbers in 2008, the trucks cant really afford to lose too many numbers.

Bit of diagreement amongst competitors after a nasty shunt at Mallala last year between a couple of trucks. Got a bit heated in the pits, and several competitors packed up their bat and ball and went home. They won't be coming back apparently. The Mallala will-they-or-wont-they is something else again.... and still not settled from what I hear

I was just looking at the Oran Park website and it mentions an enduro weekend on the 26/27 Septamber. Does anyone have any useful information about what this race meeting consists of, and perhaps the categories which would be racing on this particular weekend?

Confirmation that the last EVER race meeting at Oran Park will be held on December 12, 2009. Looks like a multi club day to be held; superkarts, Clubmans, Formula Vees, etc. Shame - will be hard to see the old girl go.

I'm hoping to do a sprint or two around there before it goes, provided I can get around any calendar clashes

I also heard that the pit complex building has been sold and will be dismantled following the Nationals Round! So it's open carspots along pitlane, or down to the old carports for any meetings from then on.

The last state round is Oct 30/31 so that should bring in some big grids.

The enduro round in Sept will ahve a 1hr for combined touring. I will be driving in that race in my mates 626. We had a great time at the enduro at Wakefield so will have another go.
