Seems to be some talk of this project happening again. Toowoomba seems to be producing plenty of good race car drivers lately trying to follow in the footsteps of Will Power - Brown and Shields among them.

Why should the Govt support a private motoring complex!?

At least it's not a street circuit -- huzzah!

Something like this Buriram FIA Grade 2 circuit in Thailand .... nice big, wide carpark with very little for an out of control driver or rider to hit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS3MshbBCt0

Lakeside sure seems like fun --- but obviously it is intimidating for Joe Bloggs who wants to cut some hot laps in his Toyota MR2 road car -- complete with the latest 1987 safety features, as in seat belts and that's it -- and needs to drive home afterwards.

The walls are an awful lot closer at Lakeside, compared to a circuit that complies and exceeds the latest modern safety standards like Buriram.
