They knew Ford had an internal agreement that if they won in their first year the program would be extended.

Remember it isnt just the manufacturers who do the politicing, the ACO are masters at it.

Something to look at maybe for race week since Porsche PO'd the ACO during the test day. Per DSC, after getting a suspended $5500 fine at the WEC Prologue for blocking access to their garage stalls, Porsche's LMP1 team was fined $5500 dollars Tuesday and also got a thus far suspended 60 minute stop and hold penalty for the race.

If you wanna be technical, it started a decade ago with Peugeot, and everyone went black ops/black project like everything was a big secret on level with national security.

And it was all a waste of time anyways, as people still got their tech photos and such no matter what. Hell, all you had to do was wreck a car and the secrets, what few there were, were out.

Granted, I doubt that Porsche have been Peugeot levels of awful as far as being an ass to people, but rules are rules, especially as the ACO want their officials to know what's going on. This does have a trickle down effect for media and fans, and I do think that they should keep their distance as this is a two way street (I'd expect the ACO to crack down on fans and media people who get in the way of them and teams), but letting officials be allowed to look in the garage is the ACO's priority here, even if it has benefits for fans and the media.

I really don't know why Porsche is doing this: Given their test day performance, it seems to me they should be looking to see what Toyota are doing rather than being concerned with hiding what they have. It seems to me that what they have is nothing to be especially concerned over.

I hope I'm wrong.

After both sets of adjustments their restrictor remains 0.5mm larger than last year.

Tough one for P2. If they start messing around with these cars it just opens up the whole BoP can of worms into another class. But then again when you've got that spec engine anyway - I think I'd probably rather see close racing. Not sure.

It is a strange position in P2. Chassis designed from scratch to a formula, but no modification permitted after homologation, and no BoP.
If you were looking to enter P2, what chassis would you buy? There is only one choice, really.

A lot of talk about Oreca used the TMG facilities and had the Rebellion R-One, that's (partially) why they're so far ahead. But that being helped by Toyota was squashed by Oreca. So where's the truth?

This is what everyone said would happen with a limited number of suppliers and only one upgrade allowed. The numbers are high, but the diversity is not, and it appears only one got the low downforce kit correct. Unfortunately this is not a surprise. We could use a good BR01 round about now.
