CL in F3000.... the facts....

no engineer, FACT

no one spoken english! FACT

a team totally oriented around said lead driver JPM FACT

should have been a 2 year deal, as even guys as good as lewis hamilton took 2 years to dominate in F3.... FACT

Deal was struck by everyone's best mate TW, with the full intention that if they could have him look bad in the first year, pull the funding and request his return to Australia to continue making money for said boss and complete his 10 yr contract...

I won't waste my time going into it further, but to sledge someone like CL is a low blow...

I also think that having someone like CL or anyone like him is not the way forward for our A1 team... but to say the guy was no good in open wheel cars just makes me loose respect for you! ....

should we mention your name sakes lack of winning just about anything??? his formula ford record? ... and before you jump up and down, I think MW is the real deal.... but that is based more from other things

back to A1....

there are a few guys worthy of a drive... Neil, james courtney (if allowed), and maybe after 12 mths in F3 John Martin...

4 I believe. Did you think to look into the reasons for this though or just form your own conclusions?

1st Will Power - Signed with Walker Racing
2nd Christian Jones - Filled in at Germany after Powers leaving
3rd Will Davison who ran the majority of the season and developed the car. Left when signing for DJR
4th Ryan Briscoe who left after signing for Penske etc

So plenty of chances to develop the car but drivers bailed at every opportunity

Diff settings changed for practice and qualifying in China...disasterous with massive oversteer. By the time the team got it right for the main race, Dyk showed class to climb to 8th with the second slowest car (straight line) in the field before gearbox failure.

The right driver is in the seat, team needs work.

I am not as sure as you are of these.. except the money piece... would Tankworld benefit from being on an A1GP car instead of a 7 year old midfield AU in the development series....

So what has Mr Docking's team done in the F3 world lately?

Win a series, or go close?

Absolutely nothing, therefore there needs to be a new team to take over from ADR.

i dont think they will ve too bad this year, john martin should be one to watch when he gets the hang of the f3 car and the nat class driver is 'up there'. lets wait and see.

another thing, is it the same team personel running a1 and f3?

He got a bit lucky. He certainly didn't beat him in speed. A bit like Aaron Caratti in the following year.

AMSF should have taken the advice and put someone with talent in that spot to start with.

Say what you want about Reindler, but knocking him for his Eastern Creek performance is dumb. Qualifying sucked, but its always sucked for us in A1 for some reason. In the first race he gained a few positions and the second one he was lapping about the same pace as the leaders despite the drive through penalty. They never showed the replay of the supposed "jump start". I was right there at the track and didn't notice it. That was all it came down to.

Ian has good race pace sometimes but seems very inexperienced. There's potential there that's for sure.

Ian Dyk has been signed as Team Australia's lead driver for next season so now he'll be able to get that experience and show his potential.

Is he racing for ADR, or has AJ seen sense and gone looking elsewhere?

Fingers are crossed in the land of OZ that AJ has finally decided to leave ADR and go somewhere else, for the sake of the country.

Team is to be restructured with the best of ADR to engineer the car. Too many holes in last years campaign from drivers/admin/management/funding to point the bone soley at ADR.

Does ADR have a separate crew for the A1GP racing, or is the same 6 or 7 guys from their BF3 campaign?

Apart from Alan Docking himself, the A1 Team AUS crew of ten personnel are totally seperate from ADRs F3 team. A1 Team AUS works independently because its calender overlaps most other categories.
The crew is made up of ex F1, GP2, F3000, FIA GT and BTCC personnel. Two of the crew have now gone to work for ADR F3 in the A1 off season. The season 2 race engineer (ex Carlin 2005 Brit F3 Championship winning engineer), is now working for Manor Motorsport in Euro F3.
